American Gangster is easily Jay-Z's 4th best album, couldn't care less if he "sold out" if he's still making high quality music. Kingdom Come was awful, and BP3 was decent. It's not like will-i-am or Flo-Rida, as in ever since they sold out their music has gotten either worse or unbearable

The only Jay Z song I know is "Big Pimpin'." Whenever people talk about him in public I get very nervous and awkward. Everybody tells me I should listen to him. Am I really missing out on an "important artist?"

Honestly, you really are. You're not gonna get anything deep from him in terms of subject matter, but his wordplay is some of the very best hip-hop has ever seen, especially on Reasonable Doubt.

I agree with all of that apart from the Chili's albums, although, if the singles from BSSM were on Mother's Milk, I'd be inclined to agree with that too. Not sure about Di'Anno > Bruce either, but I wouldn't say Bruce > Di'Anno...both on level pegging for me.
