Looking. Not very sold on it. Well, this is a good pic:

In most others she doesn't appear as cute without the brunette look.

So I just finished iamamiwhoami's - Bounty. Good stuff, though most of these tracks were part of that viral marketing campaign she did on Youtube. On par with Kin musically, and don't remember half the videos that were made tbf.

Also listened to Siriusmo's Enthusiast, Gold Panda's Half of where you live and Emika's DVA earlier in the day.

Wasn't impressed by the first two despite loving Siriusmo's lead single "Itchy". Sounds a lot less adventurous than his last record, but it's ok if you're into the 'Born Gold' type of eccentric electronica . Emika's record was really good, her sound has matured, and she's mostly done away with her pounding dubstep trademark for something more subdued. Her piano cuts are highlights on DVA, and her vocals are better than they ever were.

It was sick. Definitely recommended if you're a fan of theirs.

I suppose this is the appropriate place to put this but been listening to Innerpartysystem's self-titled effort recently and finding that I've really enjoyed it so I'd recommend giving it a listen

EDC was a couple weeks ago. Had some friends who went. If I had the money and time I definitely would be there. Great music and atmosphere.

Evo and Hanoi, you guys should check out Karl Bartos's new album Off the Record that came out this year. Even though it's not groundbreaking in any way, it's still a fairly solid effort from a former Kraftwerk member.

So I listened to a bunch of electronic albums over the weekend, here were the highlights. All recently released.

James Holden - The Inheritors

Rone - Tohu Bohu

Ochre - National Ignition

The Rone album was a pleasant surprise. It's a tad experimental, but at the same time very accessible. The album isn't too far off from the melancholic direction M83 would take, and it has a nice production quality reminiscent of Plaid, and at times even BoC with a track like Beast. Rone definitely stepped his game up, and i've now added him along with Lusine (The Waiting Room is fantastic) as artists who's follow ups i'll be looking forward to with great anticipation.
