Evo and Hanoi, you guys should check out Karl Bartos's new album Off the Record
that came out this year. Even though it's not groundbreaking in any way, it's still a fairly solid effort from a former Kraftwerk member.
So I listened to a bunch of electronic albums over the weekend, here were the highlights. All recently released.
James Holden - The Inheritors
Rone - Tohu Bohu
Ochre - National Ignition
The Rone album was a pleasant surprise. It's a tad experimental, but at the same time very accessible. The album isn't too far off from the melancholic direction M83 would take, and it has a nice production quality reminiscent of Plaid, and at times even BoC with a track like Beast
. Rone definitely stepped his game up, and i've now added him along with Lusine
(The Waiting Room
is fantastic) as artists who's follow ups i'll be looking forward to with great anticipation.
