Man some of those beats that the female R&B singers had in the early 2000's were just cray...

You know, Ashanti's early work as in her first two's albums, it's pretty underrated. She had some really nice tracks.

Ashanti was underrated but I was never into her like that. I think being associated with Ja Rule hurt her to some degree. What's Amerie doing these days? I really liked her voice. She had talent.

I heard this song on the R&B soul channel yesterday. Love it!

I can't say I respected Ashanti....her biggest hits were carried by the beats.....which were popular hip hop beats like 6-7 years earlier. Pretty lame IMO, but not her fault. She really wasn't a good singer.

I mean, she had some jams....but shit, I could have jams too if I'm signing over Mary Jane or One More Chane.

She was fine though, she had that track and field body.

Why don't we Fall in Love.....summer banger! I liked Amerie, One Thing was heat too. Rich Harrison with the horns had it going for a minute....he did One Thing, Crazy In Love for Beyonce, Get Right for J.Lo - probably her only legit song.

And You Don't Know My Name was great too. I miss that Kanye. He did that one and the song for Janet right around that time. The Brandy joint too.

I take that back. She was definitely hyped as the next queen of R&B when she first came out.

I'd say Ashanti was hyped up for like her first album. And then after that Beyonce's solo career and Alicia Keys dropped that Diary album and it was all downhill from there for her.

Brown is best when he sticks to his R&B roots more than the pop/techno/dance or hip hop stuff he has work on imo.

Just saw Frank Ocean's latest video "Lost" from the Channel Orange album. The song isn't my favorite on the album but with so much quality like Sierra Leone, Pilot Jones, Crack Rock, Pyramids, and Pink Matter, it faces tough competition.

Sounds pretty nice. Hated most of the dancy/radio stuff that he was making but this is more like it. He's best album imo was Exclusive and hope he makes mores stuff like that as he is quite talented.

Film clip isn't too bad. I like Lost but agree that it's not the best on the album. Bad Religion, Pink Matter, Crack Rock and Pyramids are my favorite. The entire album is fantastic though.

Can't wait to see what he comes up with for the next album. Frank stated that he wants to extend the vibe from the song Golden Girl onto his next album. Pumped .

Have been listening to Miguel and The Weeknd as of late. Both good albums, especially Weeknd's.

I need to listen to a bunch of Frank Ocean songs. Any other recommendations besides what Clique posted?
