Rule number 1 is don't post anything Trey Songz related.
Haha how come? Ready was one of the best R&B albums I've heard in a loong time

I think with The Weeknd my preference for The Dream and the tempo of his songs make me prefer other artists.

Chris Brown's new song, has a Stevie Wonder, MJ and Sam Cooke feel to it.

I came in here to post this video. It certainly has an MJ feel from the vocals to the feel of the song to the mini-movie in the video. I'm not 100% a fan of Chris' falsetto like I am for Michael but he did a good job with "Fine China" as a production.

Much gratitude to

Re: Official R&B Music Discussion Thread

I didn't like the song at first but on second listen I enjoyed it. Good track from Chris after that mediocre he album released last year. I hope this one is much better.

Re: Official R&B Music Discussion Thread

It's a good song, but it has way more than an MJ "feel." The video even more so

The groove to the actual music in the song reminded me a bit of a Stevie Wonder jam too (Higher Ground, Superstition).

Re: Official R&B Music Discussion Thread

I'd say it's more of a modern Stevie Wonder type song than MJ.

Agreed, with a Smooth Criminal type vid and MJ noises chucked in there

I thought Fortune was all right apart from the shitty Dance and Pop - 2012, Strip, Sweet Love, Don't Judge Me before its release and Party Hard were all tunes and a few others were listenable IMO
