This is what you call slaying a song:

But damn if Jennifer Holiday's theatrics she picked up from performing on Broadway and other live plays all those years isn't funny as hell to watch in this performance!

Classic Whitney just singing her ass off like nobody's business:

Did I ever tell you guys how I had some company one night, and I put on a quiet storm playlist on my iPod stereo and this chick tried to tell me that my iPod was ass. She had the nerve to take my iPod out and put hers in. It was nothing but Trey Songz songs. I stared at this chick debating on whether I should kick her out or not. She lived on the next street over anyway so she could of walked. Well, if I did tell this story, it happened again!

So many kids these days (I'm not that old so I don't know why I say kids but anyway), many in my generation, don't appreciation real melody, harmony, soulful connection to the storytelling within a song, and play old build. They want hard hitting beats and what I call that manufactured sound that is over-produced and autotuned. If that's their music preference they choose then goody for them. I just keep listening to the classics. Maybe it's because I grew up on this stuff and stayed with it more than the new R&B (rapping & beats) my peers listen too. I honestly can't tell you a Trey Songz or any of those other guy's songs that I like. That "Adorn" Miguel song we talked about earlier is decent.

It's true. And I don't mess with Trey because he has R.Kelly's DNA all in his music. Back in 2007 he had his own style, then he came out with that album a couple years ago that blew up and it had R.Kelly's sound all over it. He's been biting R.Kelly for close to 4 years now. Funny that it took him to bite off R.Kelly to blow up.

I remember the exact playlist (got a bunch of different slow R&B playlists but played this one particular) on the iPod:

1)Maxwell-Til The Cops Come Knockin'
2)Maxwell Mellosmoothe
3)R.Kelly Sex Me
4)R.Kelly-Seems like you're ready
5)R.Kelly-Tempo Slow
6)Beyonce-Speechless
7)Keith Sweat-Nobody
8)Changing Faces-Stroke You Up
9)Me'Shell Ndegeocello - Soul Searchin'
10)TLC-Red Light Special
11)Isleys-Between The Sheets
12)Janet Jackson-Anytime Anyplace

Yeah she fucked the mood all up.

I have noticed in a few of Trey's tracks he has tried to project his voice and sing runs like Kells but the song writing, production, authenticity, etc just doesn't measure up to the King of R&B.

That playlist is excellent from beginning to end. Your girl was trippin. Tempo Slow is underrated btw.

Yeah Trey does seem to mimic Kelly at times.

He makes some good music, his Anticipation mix tape and Ready albums are both dope. Passion, Pain and Pleasure has some cuts on there too.

What are some tracks you'd recommend? I've only heard his singles on the radio or music videos, and wasn't impressed.

Not sure if Trey would be your style but some of his good songs that weren't singles are: Jupiter Love, Holla If Ya Need Me, You Belong to Me, Scratchin Me Up, Famous, Me 4 U Infidelity 2, Find a Place and Massage.

He makes some decent music. But all in all, he's still a poor man's R. Kelly.
