WHOA! I haven't heard those songs in years man! I totally forgot about them as a group. These songs are going on the iPod pronto. Probably the most underrated and rarely mentioned groups of all time.

Stevie Wonder's "They Won't Go When I Go" is so sad and beautiful at the same time. Stevie put together a haunting arrangement mixing classical, blues, and gospel elements into one song. I shed a tear when he performed it at Michael Jackson's funeral.

THIS CHRISTMAS
ALL I'M REALLY ASKING FOR IS YOU

Young Michael was just raw, unadulterated talent. I love his voice and how he would cover a song better than the original. He was a phenomenal performer live on stage but you can feel the soul, his soul, poured into his singing even at 11-12 years old. Michael sang the mess out these songs!

A Fool For You (originally sung by Ray Charles)

Don't Know Why I Love You (originally sung by Stevie Wonder)

Who's Lovin' You (originally sung by Smokey Robinson)

I love this song and how it builds from beginning to the end. Vocals from his brothers at the end with Michael's adlibs are amazing:

Michael as a kid was incredible. I always laugh at occasional accusations that Michael wasn't as good of a singer as he was a performer. These songs he did as a kid shits on most songs adults sing.

I hear that a lot too that Michael was a better dancer/performer than he was a singer. Michael could do it all and well. His connection with music is so emotive and it's no wonder why his fans have such a crazy strong connection to him. I love the pop songs he did in the 80s and the music he made with his brothers in the 70s. These Jackson 5 two songs don't get talked about much but they are incredible gems:

re: R&B Thread

Obviously he doesn't qualify for being "classic" yet, but I'm on an Akon spree on Youtube and thinking about it, he has to be without a doubt one of the most successful RnB artists of all time. This man was a hit MACHINE. Just reading this excerpt from his Wiki page is incredible.

Quote:
He is the first solo artist to hold both the number one and two spots simultaneously on the Billboard Hot 100 charts "twice".[2] Akon has had four songs certified as 3x platinum, three songs certified as 2x platinum, more than ten songs certified as 1x platinum and more than ten songs certified as gold in digital sales. Akon has sung songs in many languages like Spanish, Hindi etc. He was listed by the Guinness Book of World Records as the #1 selling artists for master ringtones in the world.

Akon often sings hooks for other artists and is currently credited with over 300 guest appearances and more than 35 Billboard Hot 100 songs. He has worked with numerous performers such as Michael Jackson, Quincy Jones, Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Whitney Houston, Lil Wayne, 50 Cent, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Gwen Stefani and many more artists. He has had five Grammy Awards nominations and has produced many hits for artists such as Lady Gaga, Colby O'Donis, Kardinal Offishall, Leona Lewis etc. Lady Gaga, T-Pain and many other artists who were given their chance at fame by Akon.
This man owned 04-08.

Felt in a chill mood last night, pulled up a playlist on the iPod.

Raphael Saadiq is the man.

The IWC has a bad reputation. Are you a part of the problem, or the answer?
