Re: i$e's Magical Music Megapost

Cheers for the recommendation i$e. Can't say I've heard of her but I'll definitely sample some songs.

You got any thoughts on Radio Moscow btw? A guy who generally never disappoints when recommending new artists to me said they have a Hendrix/Zeppelin vibe to their work.

Re: i$e's Magical Music Megapost

Their self titled is worth a listen, yeah.

As for Neko Case (sorry, I spelt her name wrong up there), Blacklisted is the album I'd start with.

Re: i$e's Magical Music Megapost

While youre checking out Neko Case have a look at some of her stuff with the New Pornographers too, more indie than folk but good stuff.

Along similar lines as Radio Moscow but with faaar better tunes imo, check out Graveyard - Hisingen Blues, one of the best old school straight up rock albums of recent years

Also for some truly inspired obscure 70s rock check out Socrates Drank The Conium - On the Wings, found it on a blog a while back and cant stop listening to it, really inventive dual guitars and seriously slick drum breaks, totally addictive, just a fucking killer record

Gave this album a listen today, tremendous overall and left me thoroughly impressed with her. Been really digging this sort of style recently and everything just clicked perfectly in a number of songs. Wasn't one song I'd call bad or even close to that, but 'I wish I was on the moon', 'Things that scare me', 'Look for Me', 'Stinging Velvet' & 'Pretty Girls' were probably my favourites on the album.

Will get on the other two albums recommended to me today/tomorrow.
