Good to see some Van Morrison praise here. This made me listen to It's Too Late To Stop Now. Simply put, phenomenal live performance. Morrison at his peak and his backing band is damn tight.

Iselia are really good, I like that full length a lot. The guy who runs Dog Knights is super cool and has so much good shit in the pipeline, can't remember what's announced or not so I'm not going to go into it but when the We Came Out Like Tigers LP comes out the world will end due to the weight of awesome. Their live track on the comp is amazing.

Best live band in the UK right now IMO and probably going to step it up to the best overall once that record is out.

i$e, what would you say are some good doom metal albums? (strictly doom) I'm listening to Cathedral's "Ethereal Mirror" and it's mostly pissing me off. Seems a lot of it is built around variations of a single groove.. in a blues framework. Are there any doom metal albums that aren't like this?

Funeral - Tragedies

Worship - Last CD Before Doomsday
Sleep - Dopesmoker

As with all recs, they cross over genres a lot. Plenty here that have death/black/sludge/crust elements so it's hard to filter just for funeral style. All awesome though.

Well, I really wasn't looking for funeral doom. More ilke something similar to Candlemass. But eh, what the hell, I'll try them out. Thanks man!
