Agreed on all counts. My top 25 IN DETAIL list has entered production. No doubt some new album will come and fuck the order up as I'm writing it though.

really? i thought it was pretty good, but i prefer Brothers, and even in 2011, Brothers wouldn't even be in my top 25-30. they're a really fun band though, for sure.

Yeah El Camino would struggle to make my top 40.

There are very few albums I can think of that sound like Bergtatt. I'll need to think about that one!

I truly ignored Metal for a long time. Shame on me. Sunn O))) is another band who I've only heard good things about but never came around listening too. What album by them should I check out first?

Huge package of class Canadian screamo coming my way

After Dark is such an amazing record, though. 5 tracks of post rock-influenced skramz clocking in at 35 minutes. The record builds so naturally, nothing feels forced, it's a very organic LP, at the risk of sounding like a hippy. I can't seeing it being outside of my top 5 releases this year, inclusive of every format.

Black One probably. I'm not a big Sunn O))) fan though, to be honest.

As for albums similar to Bergtatt, I think you'd probably enjoy Drudkh - Autumn Aurora & Agalloch - The Mantle.

EDIT: Just acquired After Dark. I imagine these are very Funeral Diner-esque.
