Listening to a handful of Dylan lately. "Like A Rolling Stone" is probably my number 1 ranked song of all time.
i$e and co, I assuming you guys have heard Little Roy's 'Battle For Seattle' album?
It bucks the hardcore/screamo discussion you guys are having but it's my AOTY, and there aren't enough people crowing about it on here for my liking.
For me, it's had the replayability factor that I haven't got from any other record this year. That's why it's top, the tracks which were originally quite bleak have been injected with such energy and vibrant colour, and sound fantastic.
The Decemberist's The King Is Dead album rolls in at Number 2.
Grandfather is easily their best and it's really their proper debut release. They have a couple others that they put up for free on their website and theres def some really good tracks in there. Glad someone else enjoyed it though.
Listening to Zen Arcade by Husker Du for the first time in a few months right now. Still nearly a flawless album. This and Double Nickels On The Dime were real creativity highlights in the 80s American indie/alternative scene.
