2011 looks like a pretty awesome year for metal. And music in general...

'Legend' describes this best. Have you heard his collaboration with Albert King? Two of the greatest players ever playing together.

Re: i$e's Magical Music Megapost

good list.

Empros is my AOTY as well, disregarding Color Spectrum, as that wasn't really an album, but a musical journey. but i do prefer it, but thats not even fair to Empros. Empros is magical though.

that Oceansize album is great too, so is Nas, and Transatlanticism was pretty much the album that got me into indie music, so despite it still being awesome, i have nostaligic feelings towards it. Transatlanticism is still one of my favorite songs of the genre. just out of curiosity, what do you think of death cab post-Transatlanticism, cuz i know they lost a lot of fans (and gained much more) when they with Plans and their other stuff. you still enjoy them or did it stop for you there too?

haven't ever gotten into stevie ray vaughn, know its something i need to do. i'll check out that other album too. but yeah, good inductees.

cool and smooth, that's how i play.

Best year since 2003 if you listen to a wide range of genres. I think the only genre that hasn't impressed me (and a genre which I consider to be sinking) is Hip-Hop; I can name maybe 2 or 3 albums that are actually any good that came out this year.

I haven't, but I will now for sure.

Agree on Color Spectrum; clearly the best release this year but it's excluded from my AOTY lists.

I think Plans is good, but after that I don't really enjoy any of their stuff. Same with Third Eye Blind; a classic, then a decent album, then utter shit as they stray further away from what made them good in the first place.

I don't care what anyone says Color Spectrum is my AOTY.

Re: i$e's Magical Music Megapost

Interestingly, the Color Spectrum LP release (the one that would go in AOTY), wouldn't even make my top 10.

The Complete Collection is a series of EP's, therefore not eligible.

Re: i$e's Magical Music Megapost

i agree. the 11 or 12 song album doesn't do it justice, and only picks about a handful of my favorite tracks. plus, some of those EPs are just pure perfection by themselves.

definitely agree about third eye blind. i listened to some of their more recent stuff and just sorta lol'd. no good.

cool and smooth, that's how i play.

Re: i$e's Magical Music Megapost

Got to admit I haven't listened to a lot this year, and I haven't heard all of Color Spectrum, but what I have heard sounds pretty amazing so far.

My AOTY would probably be Build A Rocket Boys or Earle's I'll Never Get Out Of This World Alive, still got a ton to listen to though.

Wilco is my album of the year, though that Florence album keeps gettimg better with every listen. Thimking the Black Keys album might be up there when its released.

Proud supporter of PWG, probably the best wrestling company in the universe. Probably.
