Re: i$e's Magical Music Megapost

Ah fuck the 7 hour drive to Nottingham, I can't find a good, reliable drummer that's into good jams anywhere. It's like there's a certain amount of them, and that number is exactly the same as the number of good bands around minus one for mine. Sooner or later a band will split (depressing) and I'll get poaching (silver lining).

Downloaded The Lack Long After. Only given it one playthrough so far so I have no idea yet if I prefer it to Old Pride or not. It almost feels a little more immediate, though.

Re: i$e's Magical Music Megapost

Yeah, loads of bands around here need a drummer. Good to know if I ever wanna put a lot of effort into playing.

Yeah it's more accessible but I think it's better than Old Pride. Better songwriting, imo.

AOTY for me is still Russian Circles - Empros. I'll rec it properly in my next round but I'll throw it out there now. Best post-metal album since Somewhere Along The Highway.

Re: i$e's Magical Music Megapost

I'll definitely check that out in the near future, got a lot to work through at the moment.

I see you recc'd Wolves In The Throne Room, heard a lot about them but I don't remember actually hearing them. What can I expect from them?

Re: i$e's Magical Music Megapost

They're basically a really diverse atmospheric black metal band with elements of doom.

Re: i$e's Magical Music Megapost

I was just listening to some doom with elements of black metal, so may as well go the other way. I'll add them to the list, too.

The Appleseed Cast - Mare Vitalis. Suggest you give it a listen. It could be an inductee. Or not.

Re: i$e's Magical Music Megapost

The new Russian Circles might be my AOTY as well. That band is incredible. La Dispute's album is up there as well.

How do you guys feel about Bear vs. Shark?
Terrorhawk is one of my favorite punk albums.

100% Post-hardcore is a blast to play, gives you so much energy to feed off of. At The Drive-in is a huge influence on my playing.

NoGimmicksNeeded - would love to hear that demo
EDIT: uploading now
