Re: i$e's Magical Music Megapost
Very good write-up.
Think it's just as easy now to get music now than the Mediafire days given Torrent sites and scripts that lets you rip the content off of streaming services. It's nice to use sites like Spotify for the ease of use, the way things are perfectly laid out, the recommendation system ect.. It's nice that it doesn't take any space on your harddrive which is minor but makes the service much more attractive. I used to use Pandora and Last.FM for their radio format, but I have a hard time accessing those now due to their licencing issues abroad. It's becoming progressively harder as Canadians despite there being a huge demand for it. I love the concept of creating playlists and sharing them with a community like you could do on Grooveshark, though the industry needs to be more open to this sort of media sharing before it becomes an acceptible things. Alot of these websites are undergoing lawsuits that's been pending for months/years. If the industry had it's way, they'd still be selling their CD's at $25 a pop and selling the digital equivilent accordingly. If there's one great thing about piracy, it's that it forced the prices to trim down to something reasonable.
