Re: i$e's Magical Music Megapost

That's awesome. Great stuff.

New Ours album out in about a month (surefire AOTYC with only hearing a couple songs performed live) and am integrating a full-blown album review with the concert review I've compiled. Going to make it an in-depth dual piece worthy of your site.

Re: i$e's Magical Music Megapost

Just read the entire interview. I think it went really well, you got some decent answers out of the band and it's a great sign for a first time thing. I especially liked the question you asked about the Bandcamp, that medium can prove to be a huge gamble in today's music climate, always interested to hear the artist's personal thoughts on adjusting to that kind of paradigm shift at such a frantic pace.

Anyway, really proud of the effort that's going into the website. These sort of interviews are key for N0ted to be taken seriously and gain traction.

btw: I just decided on what my next Odyssey for the website will be, i'll be covering 2007's Younger Brother - The Last Day of Gravity (Simon Posford and Benji Vaughan collab side project). Won't be this week though since i'm rarely home and have a shitload of errands lined up, but i'll try to get on it as soon as I can.

Re: i$e's Magical Music Megapost

Looking forward to that Greg. We could use a few contributors.

@blarg_ sounds great, good album to pick. The interview you read is nothing compared to the one we're going to be putting up later tonight. So excited.

Re: i$e's Magical Music Megapost

Looking forward to it. Yeah LDOG is amazing. If I was held at gun point and asked to name my favorite album of the 00's, that would probably be my answer.. ether that or i'd Sumi Gaeshi his ass to the ground (depending on the range).

Re: i$e's Magical Music Megapost

^had a listen to those just now
Casey LaLonde and Ultimate Slaymaster tracks were killer, if you call your band Ultimate Slaymaster you better be fucking rocking.
Really liked that Gallops track too, pretty fucking massive battles influence in it though.

Morcheeba article was real good, had totally forgotten about that album tbh, havent heard it in years but that made me want to dig it out so job done.
Never heard that Younger Bro album.

Thanks Hanoi! Younger Brother can be described as psychedelic elecronica, but unlike Simon Posford's main project Shpongle, this seems to be structured almost like a prog-rock album of the 70's. It's much more accessible than Simon's trippier stuff, but still an atypical listening experience in many ways. If you're a fan of Floyd, you should enjoy this. The cover art was created by Storm Thorgerson himself and has a "wish you were here" style to it, so that should give you an idea.

@i$e Digging the new feature.

Here's a few bandcamps off the top of my head I can think of that are really good. Could put more thought into it, lots of great stuff on there.

Chelsea Wolfe- Apokalypsis

Re: i$e's Magical Music Megapost

Sweet, we'll add some of those.

EDIT: HOLY SHIT, CityCop submitted their new Split to us. For those who know about the screamo genre, this is absolutely massive for us.

Cool that CityCop know about & recognise the site, they're good people by all accounts. Great band too.
