Re: i$e's Magical Music Megapost

Just started playing bass more frequently over guitar again in preparation for gigs soon, and its given me the urge to listen to as many records with Brian Cook as possible. He has one of the best tones around, such an underrated bassist.

His work with Russian Circles and especially Botch speaks for itself.

Wicked, looking forward to it.

Re: i$e's Magical Music Megapost

I know theres a bit of King Crimson love here so..
Anyone in need of some relaxing, yet tuneful and engaging ambient music should dl this
http://ilovetotaldestruction.blogspo...der-heavy.html
Rare early Robert Fripp solo album of striking guitar drones, been hooked on it all week, great stuff, first half is ambient and second is more post punk (David Byrne guests on a track).
Weird to think its from 1980, if some new artist came out with this album today I could see pitchfork all over it proclaiming it genius.

Re: i$e's Magical Music Megapost

Disappointed to read Ashley's review since I did love The Big Roar . The Joy Formidable and Foxygen's new albums are two that were on my queue this month, won't go into the former with overwhelming expectations lol

Anyway, good job on the review

Was disappointed to write it too, my friend. Not to say you won't like it, though. The Big Roar was pretty good I agree, and Wolf's Law doesn't hit the mark.
