Re: Official Pop Music Discussion Thread

They aren't really rock though or at least fit the mold of what those folks talk about hence why I mentioned it here.

Theres something about Sara's voice that i find a little unappealing. For some reason i also pictured someone in her 40's before i looked her up, she just has a real old fashioned sound to her if you know what i mean. With that being said though, i dont think she's horrible or anything..just not really a big fan.

I know its sort of hard to group the album under a genre, but if I classify it as pop, than its my pop album of the year. Strong debut, imo.
Totally agree.

Oh, and Taylor's new song Speak Now debuted on ITunes this week, quite like it. Can't decide whether I like it or Mine better out of her first two songs released from the upcoming album though.

Re: Official Pop Music Discussion Thread

So I finally bought the new Katy Perry album

I gotta say the majority of the thing is pretty "meh whatever" 3/5 star stuff

But "Firework" is FUCKING EPIC!!!!!! , "E.T." "Teenage dream" are really good too , "Circle the drain" "California girls" and "Who am I living for?" are pretty good as well , all others not mentioned are just like... whatever

As an overall thing I think the 1st album is better , but this album has Katy Perrys best song EVER on it (Firework) as mentioned.

Re: Official Pop Music Discussion Thread

Yeah its definantley one of the better ones but for me Fireworks singing is just incredible , I could listen to this song all day

Using itunes I used the rating thing after each first listen , "E.T" was one of the few that did get a 5 stars so yeah it is a great one. "Firework" and "Teenage dream" I also gave the 5/5 , the others all 3 or 4

Edit : In a youtube video I saw Katy said "Firework" is her own personal favorite off the record

Re: Official Pop Music Discussion Thread

Swift has another classic on her hands. Everything she's released so far has been great. Back to December is my favorite thus far.
