^^I still think Iron Man needs to be number 1. It didn't even place on the VH1 list.

The new Fear Factory album has leaked. Anyone else heard it?

It's a pretty solid album, probably their best since Obsolete. Quality dips slightly near the end but the closing track (Final Exit) is easily one of the best songs they've ever written.

I don't know about #1. Paranoid is also an awesome song but Iron Man is probably more recognizable for the intro. I replaced it with Sabbath Bloody Sabbath based on personal preference.

Fear F the list is not that inacurrate they did a pretty good job but they probably could have done quite a few things differently. For example Evenesance and shit like that dosen't fly with me on a all time HARD fucking Rock list. Journey probably shouldn't have been on the list. I think the list isn't terrible but it is a little bit lackluster. Obviously the show is a lot more fun to watch then reading this boring list on paper.

The bands they got right for the most part (Evanesence??? WHY????). The songs I will not agree on. I agree more with your list than theirs.

Thanks,

I tried to put mostly the best metal tracks from the 80's and try to get a little more 70's hard rock, punk, and southern rock into the mix. The Vh1 list is such a waste with some of those songs like Evanesence. I mean really WTF? That's why we can't have little kids and people who don't listen to a lot of older music voting for all the songs. Welcome To The Jungle as number 1 above all else is the most upsetting thing and all the musicians put it over as the best hard rock song ever on the show. Really? It's the best, since when? How much did GNR have to pay Vh1 for that honor? GNR even as one of the best rock bands of all time dosen't deserve to be number 1 and GNR has about 4 songs that are arguably better. Sweet Child O' Mine, Paradise City, November Rain, and possibly even Coma, Civil War, or Estranged. I also don't understand why some bands got two apperances on the list but those two songs are arguably not their best songs as it is and then they only have another band on their one time. If they can reach into the bag and pull out an Evenesance song for the list then surely they don't need to put two Led Zeppelin songs on the list.

VH1 butchers the selection for the majority of the lists they put out. The actual shows are hard to watch because the narrator is the same chick for everything whether it's a hard rock/metal list or a list about celebrity babies. The majority of the panel usually consists of washed up stars or comedians who try to make a joke of everything.

The one list I think they got mostly right was the 100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock from 2000. Here's that list:

I do like your list more than VH1's ViolenceIsGolden. Tomorrow they start the Most 100 Shocking Music Moments. Hopefully they don't screw that one up.

What annoys the shit out of me is the noticeable lack of Pink Floyd. I swear, how one can say that KoRn's "Freak on a Leash" is better than "Time" actually fucks with my head.
