And that is related to rock being dead because?
You don't need to play instruments to be a critic and having and idea of what do you understand for music, just like you don't need to know how to use a camera to have and idea or understanding in cinema, etc, etc

No, is not only about talent or how many albums you're able to made in time record. Is About a dozen more of things: Creativity, originality, Recognized sound, etc.
Earth for example has made 4 or 5 albums in twenty years and they has created a whole new genre.
And anyway, talent and how many albums you're able to do is heavy unrelated.

That's how all bands start people, underground. Yes, there are good bands out there, but that's just it they are just good. You won't see bands who are in the underground today make a name for themselves as often as they did in the 90's, late 80's, early 70's, and early to late 60's music booms.

No, is the quality of the music you create was make you talented.
And music doen't need to be mainstream or popular to be part of a big movement or any shit like that, The Velvet Underground is probably the most influential band in the history of rock with the Beatles and they selled shit because the mainstream in that time was Hippie Happy songs, same can be said about The Kinks.
You know that the 90's movement was popular because one band (Nirvana) has a big single and the labels fast enough began to capitalize in the movement promoving bands sounding identical from the time? is not that the bands were good enough or not (wich most of them were), is just lucky that one band was successful enough to create a new Bandwagon.
Previous bands with that sound like The Pixies, Jesus and Mary Chains, Melvins or Sonic Youth among others didn't have the same luck but look at how many people listen them today and how big influence they had in the 90's sound, all of them just make it to underground. Yeah Mainstream is all that MATTERS~~, if you just make it underground you're just don't good enough...

No one will care about half the shit bands on the scene now. Good music dies with a generation, but great music lives forever. Bands like the ones I mentioned will have their music live on while shit bands like Fun, and The Lumineers won't be remembered for shit.
