Re: Official Rock/Metal Discussion Thread
(at i$e)
Tbh I like a few of their songs, but they spawned this copycat from Australia called Capture the Crown. Seriously, they sound EXACTLY like AA. There was a top comment on YT that said "I clicked Capture the Crown, yet I hear/see Asking Alexandria". Made me lol. Plus there's terrible bands out there doing the same thing that Attack Attack are doing called Abandon All Ship (or some shit like that), Vampires Everywhere! and Design The Skyline. I like metalcore, but fuck I have a limit on generic and overall terribleness.

The back cover of that album is why I own an ODB-3 bass pedal so good. The Difference Between You And Me... is on par with it, & they released loads of amazing singles at the same time.
Saw Future Of The Left last month, played Lightsabre Cocksucking Blues & Without MSG I Am Nothing. I like them but they're just no mclusky.
I feel bad about Asking Alexandria, but that's what sells I guess. Rocksound was always class for promoting underground UK punk/hardcore/noise/alternative bands though, so maybe it's smaller features are still good.

Re: Official Rock/Metal Discussion Thread
I've stopped buying music rags full stop now, strange because I used to get every issue of Kerrang in the 90s/early 2000s and was a Terrorizer subscriber until a few years ago. I'll sometimes buy Rock N Rolla if I see it but that is rare.

They're picking up steam now. Going to be everyone's favorite band sooner or later.

Re: Official Rock/Metal Discussion Thread
I listen to all sorts of current bands that are mainstream, local, and underground. I have been around music my whole life. I can play more instruments than most of you typing away on here, and in fact I can play anything with strings attached to it, as my parents used to say. The level of talent in music is gone. Yes, I like Led Zeppelin, and I also like Beethoven. I'm not stuck in the 90's at all, and very well aware of the type of talent that the "music" industry has to offer. Is it sad to see people just listening to the music they grew up with? I guess, I don't care really. It's about talent in all aspects of the band itself be it metal, or rock. There is less, and less of it as time passes. It's very hard to create a dozen, or more albums. Most of these bands today won't create that much music.
How much music you create is what makes you a talented band. It's doesn't matter how big the fan base is. It's hard to make music, and anyone with a brain who has played an instrument will tell you so. I was merely saying that the bands from a particular era of Rock was the last great era of solid bands that were actually mainstream because they were so good, and had established themselves well enough "UNDERGROUND" to make it big. That's how all bands start people, underground. Yes, there are good bands out there, but that's just it they are just good. You won't see bands who are in the underground today make a name for themselves as often as they did in the 90's, late 80's, early 70's, and early to late 60's music booms.
Everything now is Lady Gaga, Kanye West, or some other bullshit. I don't for see another movement of solid Rock anytime in the near future. All great things come to an end, and unfortunately Rock may have been one of those things. We make fun of the Rolling Stones, and older bands for still playing, but in 40 years people will still be covering their songs because they are that good. No one will care about half the shit bands on the scene now. Good music dies with a generation, but great music lives forever. Bands like the ones I mentioned will have their music live on while shit bands like Fun, and The Lumineers won't be remembered for shit.

Re: Official Rock/Metal Discussion Thread
Yeah. Sounds good to me.
Your anger seems geared towards the vocals more than the music. b/c it actually has music in it and not autotune garbage.
