BUSH. Immense.
Limp Bizkit. Terrible. lmao @ them getting the HUGE text too.
Gotye became the indie thing here, so then it went mainstream and was EVERYWHERE. Amazing how society works.

Still looks good today according to the people selling out the shows in each state. Haters gonna hate.
I just wanted to see Limp for Nookie, Break Stuff (which apparently they didn't play) and My Way.
New QOTSA, Offspring, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Them Crooked Vultures and Weezer this year .
Also group called Band of Skulls released their new album "Sweet Sour" last week, it's quite good. They're like a heavier version of the White Stripes.

Times of Grace and Four Year Strong are the ones I'd be most excited about seeing on that Soundwave lineup, although there's plenty of good acts on there.

Sad that those bands are at least in their forties yet I'm looking forward some of those releases the most.

^ Same. I have faith after The Fooies, Blink, RHCP and Bush all had good albums last year and they're in the same bracket.

I can't believe that Axl Rose is 50 now and Anthony Kiedis is going to be 50 later this year. Blows my mind.

Re: Official Rock/Metal Discussion Thread
I am probably later than anyone else to say this, but I just listened to Nightwish's Imaginaerium. Hadn't followed this band for over 3 years, since I had moved on to better stuff. But someone recommended this album to me.
...and its excellent. I like the dark, carnival atmosphere and the operatic touches. Its the first time I heard that Tarja had been sacked, and the new singer, whatsername, is actually quite good. Apparently, a movie with the same name as the album is in the works - the story sounds good.
The song Ghost River is stuck in my mind. Here it is:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2rjgWNE-Bpk
"He will go down he will drown drown, deeper down. The river wild will take your only child. He will go down he will drown drown, deeper down. The mills grind slow in a riverbed ghost town. He will go down he will drown drown, deeper down. If you want me, then do come across"
Killer chorus, someone posted the lyrics on youtube. Damn, this song makes me want to listen/watch the 1986 Phantom of the Opera musical...in fact, I will probably do it!
