Does he not realize that LOG and ETID are completely current bands? Does he not realize that Metallica & Iron maiden still occasionally release new music?
I just really don't understand him trying to insult current metal and wearing a LOG sweater at the same time
I mean also even if you or him or anyone likes their metal all oldschool there are still plenty of oldschool style metal bands : Machine head , Black tide , Trivium (The crusade) , Metallica/Megadeth/Iron maiden/Judas priest are all still making new stuff , Heaven & hell just put out a new CD
So that style of metal is not totally dead really

Have just listened to them both. This Circus was pretty good, a typically unique Chevelle song. Jars is definately the better of the two, though.
That's Chevelle, Allele, Smile Empty Soul, Cold, Breaking Benjamin, Creed & Alice In Chains with releases this year people.

.....that was done 3 years ago. It is quiet funny though.
Winger and Bon Jovi have new albums coming out by the end of the year. Not too fussed on the Bon Jovi but I love Winger. I still listen to their old stuff at least once a week.

Re: Official Rock Discussion Thread
Pearl Jam's new one The Fixer is kinda meh. I usually dont judge a band on their radio singles, especially the first one off an album yet to be released, but it just doesnt have that Pearl Jam sound to it(like Brother for example). But Im looking forward to their new stuff, and Im sure it wont disappoint.

Acclaimed British producer Andy Sneap (MEGADETH, TESTAMENT, EXODUS) has finished mixing and mastering the new ARCH ENEMY record, "The Root Of All Evil", due on September 28 in Europe and October 6 in North America via Century Media Records. This special collection features re-recorded versions of songs from the first three ARCH ENEMY albums — "Black Earth" (1996), "Stigmata" (1998) and "Burning Bridges" (1999).
Commented guitarist Michael Amott: "This one took some time to get done, despite the fact that the actual songs were already written a good few years ago! The album was recorded at a few different locations locally here in Sweden — produced by ARCH ENEMY, with Daniel Erlandsson (drums) handling a lot of the engineering. It was then sent to Andy Sneap in England for the mixing/mastering and I simply can't stop listening to this since I got the final mixes!"
Amott continued: "We basically headed down to our rehearsal studio, got reacquainted with the tunes, picked out our favorites and proceeded to give a breath of new life to those early songs, with the idea to have the possibility to re-add them to the live set and follow up with some touring activity!
"I'm loving hearing these songs with a fresh new sound and performance. Everyone in the band did a killer job on it — especially Angela's [Gossow] vocal performance is astoundingly intense and brutal and it was also cool to hear Sharlee [D'Angelo] lay down some great bass tracks on the early songs! The production and mix is crushing and heavy as hell — it really makes these old songs shine. It sounds like a brand new thing!"
ARCH ENEMY will return to Australia in November for a phenomenal headlining tour. Direct support on the dates will come from New York death metal legends SUFFOCATION. Also appearing on the bill is WINDS OF PLAGUE.

Its a bunch of their old songs but re recorded with Angela on vocals , which to me anyway will basically be all like brand new songs because their 1st vocalist sucked so bad that I could never get into their older music
The black dahlia murders new CD has preview clips up for every song on amazon.com now

Every time I try to say anything about bands like Arch enemy & TBDM , nobody on here has anything to say at all
Seems to me like the people who post in this topic are strictly into post hardcore and metalcore and whatevers on the rock radio stations , which is all genres I love too but nobody ever has anything to say about it when I post stuff about metal bands that aren't metalcore

I don't know if it's a parody of the entire current metal scene, but it was a parody of new trendy metalcore bands from a few years ago like Trivium, Atreyu, Avenged Sevenfold, Bullet For My Valentine, Underoath etc. I guess 2005's equivalent to The Devil Wears Prada, A Day To Remember, Suicide Silence, Silverstein and so on.

Awesome, Icon.
I'm going to see them the 25th, I'm pumped to see them back. Although I still like Alter Bridge much more.
