Re: Official Rock Discussion Thread
A poster named Power on here told me about a band named The Killer and The Star. This is a side project by the frontman of the band Cold, Scooter Ward. I am a huge fan of Cold, so naturally checked out this band. It is surprisingly very good. They are experimental rock, and border on pop and elements of hip hop. Nothing like the band Cold, but I am really digging the music. Check some of their stuff out on their myspace, if you wish.

The way this band combines melodic metalcore with electronic sounds is incredible. I especially love the start to Trapped with this crazy electro/dance sound that immediately goes into a breakdown.
My second favourite album of the year but after more listens it may surpass The Devil Wears Prada.

Great recommendation. I just got the album and have my first listen through done. I would definitely stick it up on my top 5 list for one of the best albums of 09. Electronic sounds mixed with metalcore is definitely a winning combination. I am not even sure which track is my favorite, they are all pretty solid. I like Falling Behind though a lot.

Re: Official Rock Discussion Thread
Subject 1.I figure if you two both like those dead by april guys I might like them too since I usually like most of the same bands
So I went listened to "Falling behind" by them
Personally , their clean vocals drive me nuts (in the bad way) so unfortunatley this isn't going to be Band roster count +1 for me
Subject 2.The Almosts new album , is honestly titled "Monster , monster". All I have to say about that is WTF?
Proof : http://blogs.myspace.com/index.cfm?f...ogID=504369856
At least the actual music is sure to be good

I would have to say my overall favourite track at the moment is In My Arms. Such an epic song.

I understand where you're coming from. A lot of DBA clean vocals can annoy people but I love it. At first, I thought the guitar player did the clean vocals and then you had the band member who screamed. However, Jimmie (screamer of the band) actually does all of the clean vocals, which impressed me. If I were you, check out Angels Of Clarity, Losing You, Erased, In My Arms or Stronger. They might appeal to your tastes.

Each to their own but I respect your opinion. Their sound won't always appeal to some.

Nice, Agalloch working on a new album. Too bad it won't be out until 2010.

Re: Official Rock Discussion Thread
The rock/metal that's being played on mainstream radio pisses me right the fuck off.
A great parody of today's metal scene.

Don't get me wrong, they got talent. The clean vocals just annoy me a bit. If I listened to them more I'm sure I'll get used to it. I listen to Coheed and Cambria so...
