Re: Official Rock/Metal Discussion Thread
TDWP new song "Outnumbered" is quite good. Yes it's got a cheesy intro, but doesn't take me away from the song. I <3 EPs so ill definitely be purchasing 'Zombie EP' when it drops.

I love the opening, it adds to the atmosphere of the zombie theme.

Re: Official Rock/Metal Discussion Thread
Outnumbered by TDWP is awesome. Everything about the song was great and I really like the chorus with both the screams and the clean vocals combined together.
I'm definitely going to be purchasing the Zombies EP.

Ministry of Saints
Hey guys im looking for some advice.
I love the work of Kamelot and Avantasia. Ive enjoyed what I heard from Edguy(Land of a Miracle is amazing). Im trying to find some similiar bands. Also a fan of Iced Earth Im going to look into Gamma Ray's newest release "To the Metal". Any recommendations?
P.S- Don't recommend Epica(not a fan).
Edit- I was wrong, Im new to Edguy and I thought Ministry of Saints was a new song.

I'll just list the power metal I have minus what you already know.
Sinbreed
Freedom Call
HammerFall (my favorite power metal band)
Savage Circus
Persuader
Demons & Wizards
Blind Guardian
You can get most of those band's albums on my blog. Just click the logo in my sig. I highly recommend HammerFall and Blind Guardian. Demons & Wizards is the side project of Hansi Kürsch (Blind Guardian) and Jon Schaffer (Iced Earth). I have the full discographies for Edguy, Blind Guardian, Avantasia and HammerFall on my blog too.

It's just been confirmed via Linkin Park's official website that the new album is indeed called A Thousand Suns and that it will be released on September 14th, 2010! The Catalyst has also been confirmed as the first single, with a release date of August 2nd!
Furthermore, the band has put together a one-of-a-kind contest for the fans, which gives them the chance to be on the album!
Read the full message from Mike:
No puzzles or hidden messages with this one. We’re excited to finally announce that our new album, A THOUSAND SUNS, will be released on September 14th.
The lead single for the album is called “The Catalyst.” It will be released on August 2nd.
Beginning tomorrow, July 9th, we’re teaming up with MySpace and MixParade for “Linkin Park, Featuring You,” a contest which gives you the one-of-a-kind opportunity to be on our new album. We'll be giving you some audio from “The Catalyst,” and you get to take it from there; you can remix the parts, write something over them, or mute stuff and write something totally new. We may choose a remix of the song, and put it on the album…or, we may choose an amazing keyboardist, string quartet, guitarist, percussion group, or other musician, and invite them into the studio to play on one of our songs. No matter what instrument you play, you can win. We're open to anything good. All we ask is that you include any audible portion of any one of our stems in your submission.
Once you submit, the community (that's you) will vote, and the most popular stuff will rise to the top. Then, my bandmates and I will comb through the submissions, choose one winner, and they will be included on our album, A THOUSAND SUNS. Check out http://www.myspace.com/linkinpark for contest details.
I think I've said enough for now. Thanks for your continued support. We’ve got more announcements coming, so keep checking LinkinPark.com for updates.

UPDATE:
A new article on BlabberMouth.net provides more info on the "Linkin Park, Featuring You" Contest among other exciting news!
"Our albums are the foundation of who we are as a band, and reserving a spot for a fan to play on one of our songs felt like a way to show our dedication to them," says Shinoda. "There are a lot of unknowns about what might get submitted for this contest, but that's what makes it fun. Our fans continually energize us with their creativity and dedication, so I think they're going to come up with something great."
Head on over to http://site.bojam.com/beta/index.php to hear snippets of The Catalyst and create your remix.
