Correction, they got amazing when they made City Of Evil, says this observer. They were a shitty band before COE. Shadows is such an amazing singer and he was wasting it with that scremo bullshit. No they don't. I have seen no evidence of that what so ever. Please provide some if you wish to bring that to the table.

Now this is a hypothetical situation, but lets say you were to take someone who doesn't listen to metal too much but knows Metallica slightly. There is a high number of chances that the only song they've heard is "Enter Sandman" or something, and judging by that they claim Metallica to be the best of metal, with disregard to other bands...

Hypothetical situations really do nothing for me because you can't back that up with anything tangible in the slightest. And so what if non metal fans think that Metallica are the best. That in itself tells you something without even looking to deep into it. If there were metals bands, "greater" than Metallica don't you think non metal fans would know about them? Of course they would.

Its hard to make myself clear on this subject, but what I am really trying to say that there are a lot of trend followers, who will say Metallica is their favorite band without looking into them. Once again, I like Metallica, and I really have nothing against the guys, but as I said before, I believe people like to think they are the best of metal, right away without looking into it.

No one says one band is their favorite band without looking into them. Please. Don't even try that. And even if those fans were to look into it they would realize that Metallica are the greatest metal band of all time. Just because they don't look into it doesn't mean it isn't so.

Once again, I have nothing against Metallica, I like some of their songs but they are not the best in metal imo. I prefer bands like Iron Maiden or Megadeth. You may not find them overrated at all, but I stand by my point that they are overrated. I think this is more of an opinion rather than a fact, for example you (generally, not specifically) would probably say KISS or The Beatles are overrated, while I probably wouldn't say the same.

You are absolutely entitled to your opinion...doesn't mean it makes any sense in the slightest. Your opinion is nonsense because you can't back it up with anything other than hypothetical situations. Your opinion is nothing but an opinion when you don't want to look into the facts and logic of the argument. Again, would you like to look at the tangible FACTS of the case or would you still like to ignore them? You say they are overrated but bring not a single fact or even logic into the argument. That speaks tons of your opinion. It really does.

They sold out cause they completely changed there style of music so more ppl will like them & they will get more radio play, it disgusts me.

How do you know why they changed theyr style of music.. *And it didn't change all that much, I have all of their albums.* Are they on record in some interview as stating that they changed their style of music so more people will like them and they will get more radio play? If not, you are simply assuming that's what happened. And that really does nothing for me or for your argument. Maybe they started writing better songs and people started noticing it.

And for arguments sake, let's say they did... *and I don't really buy that* but let's just say they did. What's wrong with that? Music is their living and if they change their style so they can actually make a living playing music then what's wrong with it? Would you rather them make CD's that no one will buy and have to flip burgers at McDonalds to pay the bills? I wouldn't.
