Some of my favorite bands like Katatonia, Opeth, My Dying bride use a mixture of death growls with great clean vocals as well. There's plenty of metal out there that doesn't have to rely on purely screaming to be enjoyable. As a genre and all the ridiculous sub-genres it's as diverse as it can get, there's something for everyone.

The only stuff I can't really stand is the Cannibal corpse type of stuff where you can't understand a damn word they're saying.

I listen to Cold and Breaking Benjamin occasionally, more BB than Cold. Cold's Year of the Spider looks good from what I've heard of it (Remedy, Stupid Girl) and something I've considered buying in the past. Listen to BB quite a bit too.

Any Five Finger Death Punch fans? I only started listening to them recently, when I began to get interested in the American Rock Charts, that's how I've into many bands I had never heard of previously. Anyway, The Bleeding and Never Enough are two quality songs, and White Knuckles is very good as well. Anyone listen to them and could recommend any other songs to check out?

Anberlin's cover of The Cure's "Love Song" is legendary. I like it more than the original.

I'll agree with you here, there is just so much Metal that everybody will be happy. Out of those bands, Opeth are the only ones that I have heard much from and I'll probably be buying a couple of their CDs soon. But I think they are brilliant the way that they have very beautiful clean vocals but also incorporate Death Growls, which I absolutely love.

My favourite forms of metal are definitely the Heavy, Loud, Fast and Brutal types. Stuff like Heavy Metal, Thrash Metal, Metalcore, Deathcore, Death Metal etc. I just think that the style of vocals goes so well with those types of music and fits it perfectly and better than just plain clean vocals. Tom Araya just reeks anger and aggression so well when he ‘sings’. It just gets me pumped up.

I occasionally like bands, All that Remains and Killswitch Engage in Metalcore, that use clean vocals every once awhile. But I like bands that just to use Growls, Roars and Screams all the way through their music, plus put Breakdowns in. It just suits the music better. Not really a fan of Clean vocals for choruses then occasionally use screaming.

Actually you can hear what he’s 'singing' quite a lot, especially on the album Kill. It's bands that use Pig Squeals that are the hardest to hear. But even then I love that stuff. Especially when they have awesome Drums and Guitars. I just really like the vocals that they have.

I'm a huge Breaking Benjamin fan, getting a tattoo of their logo. Cold isn't exactly my cup of tea, but I do enjoy some of their stuff. I think that Blank Theory song was on the Freddy Vs Jason soundtrack, I know I heard it somewhere before.

Their first album, Saturate, is their best one to date. 6 years later and I still enjoy it more than most songs.

All 3 albums are strong enough to warrant a listen, although We Are Not Alone is a bit more on the "mainstream/make us famous" side of things. Phobia is pretty awesome, but has some soft lulls in there.
