I'll agree with you here, there is just so much Metal that everybody will be happy. Out of those bands,
Opeth are the only ones that I have heard much from and I'll probably be buying a couple of their CDs soon. But I think they are brilliant the way that they have very beautiful clean vocals but also incorporate Death Growls, which I absolutely love.
My favourite forms of metal are definitely the Heavy, Loud, Fast and Brutal types. Stuff like Heavy Metal, Thrash Metal, Metalcore, Deathcore, Death Metal etc. I just think that the style of vocals goes so well with those types of music and fits it perfectly and better than just plain clean vocals. Tom Araya just reeks anger and aggression so well when he ‘sings’. It just gets me pumped up.
I occasionally like bands,
All that Remains and
Killswitch Engage in Metalcore, that use clean vocals every once awhile. But I like bands that just to use Growls, Roars and Screams all the way through their music, plus put Breakdowns in. It just suits the music better. Not really a fan of Clean vocals for choruses then occasionally use screaming.

Actually you can hear what he’s 'singing' quite a lot, especially on the album
Kill. It's bands that use Pig Squeals that are the hardest to hear. But even then I love that stuff. Especially when they have awesome Drums and Guitars. I just really like the vocals that they have.
