Re: Rock & Metal Discussion Thread.
I've heard very little from Anthrax, but what I heard I thought was great. They are one of the best thrash metal bands, and like MDB, I should get into them more.

Re: Rock & Metal Discussion Thread.
I've loved Anthrax since I first heard Thorn In Your Eye as the Raw Is War theme song. If you're into Thrash you should check them out. Also some other awesome Thrash bands are Exhorder, Exodus, Metal Church, Hirax, Kreator, Overkill, Heathen, Testament, Vio-lence, Whiplash, and of course 'Tallica and 'Deth, but everybody loves those two.
EDIT: Can't forget Slayer.

That's alright, happens to all of us. I just didn't notice Slayer in there and seeing as they are my favourite band, I had to point it out. But all those bands you mentioned are pretty damn good.

Re: Rock & Metal Discussion Thread.
You know something, sometimes I feel really weird about listening to bands like Slayer, being that I was raised a Catholic. I know Metal and Religion aren't the best of friends, but I like to think that I can have both in my life. And yet I listen to the Anti-Christ that is Slayer, lol.

I know what you mean, I wasn't really raised in any religion but I did go to Church as a kid with my family on the main Christian occasions. But I wasn’t fully a Christian and didn’t really believe in any God.
But then around 10 I started to really doubt my beliefs and the existence of a God and now at the age of 20 I am an Atheist and I just love listening to Metal. Everything about it is just brilliant. And Slayer just hit all the right points for me, God Hates Us All is a fantastic album and every song just reeks of hatred, anger, death and some songs the fall of Religion and everything that is wrong with it, especially Disciple, New Faith and Bloodline.
But it is weird, Slayer started about 5 years before I was born and one of my favourite albums, South of Heaven, came out in the year I was born. I can listen to it any time of the day. Actually I think I might put Slayer on right now.

Yeah, I basically just keep my beliefs to myself, especially since I know a lot of people that don't believe in God. The thing about me is, Metal doesn't gel with my personality at all. I'm a goofball, and I don't have a lot of hatred in me at all. That's why it's so odd that I absolutely love Heavy Metal. I actually used to be more into Hip Hop, but I grew out of that before everybody else got into it and it became the new cultural craze. Now I'm getting deeper and deeper into Metal and I'm realizing that it's my favorite kind of music in the world, it's just so intense and it motivates me, especially Thrash. Opposites attract, I guess.
