I went and saw them last week. Even made a thread about it and posted pics.
Iron Maiden Concert
I don't listen to much of their new stuff. Fear Of The Dark probably the "latest" of their's that I've had a good listen to. Live After Death is my all time favourite live album.
People accuse some bands of sound the same and Iron Maiden are one of those bands. They've basically made simliar albums for the lst 25 years, but that's why we like them, that's their style.

The rest are pretty decent tracks too. Overall, great stuff. Sure, some songs sound very alike (NB, ACDC secrets imo)
But are still kickass. If they don't win an ARIA for Best Rock Band over here, then we will know that they are rigged for pop shit like Silverchair tbh.

I like that "TM, TY, TF" song and I was thinking about getting this album. Thanks for letting me know its a good one.
Oh and Iron Maiden rules, but the latest album wasn't the greatest.

Re: Rock & Metal Discussion Thread.
The recent Maiden tour was all their old stuff. The most recent song they played was Fear Of The Dark.

The Live in Rio recording of Fear in the Dark on the Edward the Great album is one of the awesomest things i've ever heard.

Re: Rock & Metal Discussion Thread.
I've gotten tired of Iron Maiden's live recordings over the years. I've lost count at how many I have.
Another live ablum, well DVD/VHS I love is Van Halen's Live Without A Net from 1986. Van Halen at their best. I saw them live in about 1998ish with Gary Cherone as I found it very disappointing. I loe Gary Cheron with Extreme but with Van Halen it wasn't the same. I'd be there in a flash if they toured here with David Lee Roth. Pity they are only doing the stuff from his era as they recorded some great stuff between 1986 and 1996.

Bruce Dickinson or Paul Di'Anno? I pick Bruce though I think Paul flourished in his songs.

Re: Rock & Metal Discussion Thread.
Bruce.
Paul Di'Anno wasn't that bad but after seeing a few docos with Iron Maiden they didn't feel as though he was the singer to lead them forward. Iron Maiden were competing with punks bands at the time and Paul Di'Anno had that punk look about him. Bruce is awesome.

I was lucky enough to see them about 4 months ago now when they were with Roth. And man it was an awesome show those guys still got it. Hope they plan a stop down in Aussie for ya Rajah.
I do prefer the Roth stuff but yeah there are quite a few Hagar songs I was sad they didn't play like Dreams, Poundcake and When it's love.

Re: Rock & Metal Discussion Thread.
Anyone here listen to Thin Lizzy, Rory Gallagher or Gary Moore?
Theyre pretty big bands from where I come from, legends around here, a pity Phil died so young, a musical genius I think. Gary Moore is a great guitarist too. These bands are old rock bands from the 70's/80's, btw. Check them out if you like that era.
