Re: Rock & Metal Discussion Thread.
Who knows I'm thinking they may crank out a mix of both. So it appeals to their hardcore/80's fans and a few songs, possibly one acoustic, that appeals to mainstream fans and radio/music TV.

Rick Rubin has apparently used Ride The Lightening and Master Of Puppets as references to how the album should sound. Here's hoping.
I've been a Metallica fan from about 1988. First heard Master Of Puppets on school camp and liked them ever since.
I liked Justice, the production and "scooped" sound can be off putting at times buit it's still a great album. There is a version doing the rounds that has some kid who added his own bassline that can actually be clearly heard to every track.
The Black Album has the biggest sound I've ever heard. Bob Rock did a great job in getting the sound right, but the songs were a little lame. Nothing Else Matters has to be the worst ballad ever.
Subsequent albums for me have done nothing. I couldn't even name 10 songs they recorded since 1991.
They influenced a generation then it's almost like they tried to distant themselves from their creation. Wearing makeup in the clip for Until It Sleeps? Oh, so, sad.
Let's hope they redeem themselves on the new album.

Re: Rock & Metal Discussion Thread.
Just got the entire Airbourne album. Fucking great stuff.
"Diamond In The Rough", "Girls In Black", "Too Much, Too Young, Too Fast", "Runnin' Wild" and "Stand Up For Rock And Roll" are great.
The rest are pretty decent tracks too. Overall, great stuff. Sure, some songs sound very alike (NB, ACDC secrets imo)
But are still kickass. If they don't win an ARIA for Best Rock Band over here, then we will know that they are rigged for pop shit like Silverchair tbh.

Awards are usually meaningless. Glad you like Airbourne, I seem to be converting many people these days. They have relocated to the United States! Glad we found some common ground after the whole Nickelback thing.

Re: Rock & Metal Discussion Thread.
Iron Maiden: a matter of life and death is so damn overrated, the only good song on that album is Different world! The other songs on that album are long & Boring.imo.
