You can't compare the 2. they are totally different. Buckethead could outplay slash anyday, whether it soudned any good or not is another issue.

Re: Rock & Metal Discussion Thread.
Better has been getting an incredible amount of play on my iPOD. It's easily one of the best songs GnR has ever written in my opinion. I also like pretty much everything on Use Your Illusion II. In my opinion, that's the best CD any band has ever released. I really dig more or less everything on there: Civil War, Get In The Ring, Knockin' On Heaven's Door, and who could forget the masterpiece that is Estranged.
But what I'm really trying to get at, is that Axl and Slash were musical geniuses, and made an amazing duo, and Appetite For Destruction is just as sick as anything else they released. There is no debating the mega band that was Guns N Roses.

Re: Rock & Metal Discussion Thread.
I like your Motley Crue quote^^^ One of my favorite songs from them. I was shocked to know it was originally a Simple Plan song.

I was kinda pissed. Here I was, totally rocking out to the first Motley Crue that made so much sense. It was the blatant love song, and it was beautiful. It was so simple, and I could so easily relate to it. As a matter of fact, if I was coming off of a breakup with some chick, that song would make me cry every single time I heard it for probably a month or so. I know exactly how you feel, because I felt that the same way when I found out it was a leftover from Simple Plan. But hey, look on the bright side, no one could've rocked that song the way The Crue did. That song has just the right amount of rock, and the right amount of lyrics.

Re: Rock & Metal Discussion Thread.
yeah same here, well reports said Nikki Sixx changed a lot of the song once they bought the rights from Simple Plan. So in a sense I'd like to think it would have been a horrible song had the Crue not refurbished it. The video is another story, first time I saw it I fell in love with it. So much meaning in it. I love how they highlight on a high moment of each members career. Much credit to Mick Mars coming from that disease, and getting better. I heard it was fatal enough to have killed him. Kudos to Mars, I love that guy. Hes probably my favorite member of the band, the most quiet but the most amazing.

Ditto. Paradise City is just one of those songs that once you hear it, you just can't shake off. It's some of their best.

Re: Rock & Metal Discussion Thread.
My favorite Motley Crue quote didn't even come from them. I saw a t-shirt at a country concert *of all places* that said on the back.. "I'm a Motley Crue fan... who the fuck are you?"
