Re: Rock & Metal Discussion Thread.
I'm not really a big fan of Slipknot, but I do like some of their songs, like Before I Forget,Wait and Bleed, and Duality, those are the only songs I like from them.

Re: Rock & Metal Discussion Thread.
I never was into AiC too much, they were a bit before my time, I've heard a few of their songs, but never really got into em. Anyone looking forward to info on KsE's new album, hopefully it'll be as good as As Daylight Dies ^_^

Re: Rock & Metal Discussion Thread.
Funny thing is, alot of the bands I'm into *especially the heavier bands* are bands that are before my time and I'm not sure if that's a bad thing or a good thing lol

Hopefully it'll be way better than that commercial garbage. Seriously, the only listenable tracks on there are 'My Curse' and 'Daylight Dies', the rest (ie 'Arms of Sorrow', 'Eye of the Storm') sound (considering it's KsE) ridiculously poppy. It made me embarassed to call myself a KsE fan
To hate on them some more ( ), they're going a European tour with As I Lay Dying in August, but they're not playing in the UK! Bastards!

I love all their albums since Howards been on, at first I agreed with you, a lot of the songs sound like pop songs, but on a second listen through, I took the album for what it is, a new direction and them trying something new, I ended up liking all the songs on their simply because I realized that the album is supposed to be, A new direction for them, same thing happened with Slipknot when they heard V3, everyone thought they were pop sell-outs, when in reality, it was them doing something new, people use the term "sell-out" and "commercial" way too much imo, I can understand you not like As Daylight Dies from the perspective of it's a new album, but as long as you don't use the world "sellout" we'll be good, but if you do.....I'll be mad at you >_>

I love Alice in Chains. Mr. Perfect got me into it two years ago. There is a distinct sound, yet it relates to that proverbial "Seattle" sound.

Why is everyone discovering the band a year late? Admittedly, the reason I knew about the band and album was because I am a Mötley Crüe fan, but it has taken people quite a while to notice it. Life Is Beautiful and Tomorrow are two stand out tracks.

Re: Rock & Metal Discussion Thread.
If "Life is Beautiful" is the only track you've heard by Sixx: Am, I really suggest you check out more. Listen to "Courtesy Call", it hits the nail on the head of Nikki Sixx's experiences. Also the video for "Pray for Me" has been released, check it out.

Awesome band. I did not expect much from the album tbh but it is really solid. Van Nuys, Life is Beautiful and Heart Failure all own.
New Slipknot album should sweet...I am really looking forward to it.

There is certainly nothing wrong with liking old stuff .
As for the talks about Sixx am? Love 3 or 4 songs off their album, with Life is Beautiful being my favourite. I like there sound quite a bit.
