Re: My Random Thoughts On Hip-Hop
Nelly did the 50 Cent 'blatantly going pop' thing years before 50 Cent did. He has no credibility. Nor skills.
Still not really sure why Jedi Mind Tricks gets so much love from the underground...I was just listening to them myself, Stoupe is the only good thing about them. Vinnie Paz is the worst MC ever. 'I like anything that's related to death!!!!!'

Define Hip-Hop...
Hip-Hop is a culture and form of ground breaking music and self expression with elements that consisted of the elements of graffiti art, DJing, MCing, and breaking. Today Hip-Hop is considered to be dead in the mainstream because so-called mainstream Hip-Hop doesn't have the elements of hip-hop and have no meaning.

Re: My Random Thoughts On Hip-Hop
I think Hip-Hop was made in the 90s simple as that nowadys alot of the legends have stopped making new songs at the moment there are alot of good young guns coming through like Kanye West. This is a good solid post I agree with you on some things like how good Luda' is, however I dont agree with you about 50 Cent I dont know what it is but I find his raps boreing and the same thing over and over again. Eminem is great however I have to agree with rodanextreme he makes some awsome songs like Loose Yourself and then he makes crap like Ass Like That and some of his later music is just plain stupid.
Tupac well he is an absolute legend and my all time favorate rapper he had such big talent and all the music he made was amazing all his songs had such good tempo and rhythem his voice is so distinct and I liked everthing about his music. I think he revolutionised Hip-Hop and I dont think it would be what it is today if it wasnt for him.
Chamillionaire he is good but he hasnt been around long enough but I think he will be a huge name in years to come.
Jay-Z what can you say about him he is a legend in my books, I love all of his songs. You can put on any of his songs and just listen to it he has good rhythem. I think he is one of the biggest names in Hip-Hop ever. He is like Tupac in terms of revolutionising Hip-Hop but more in the recent years.
P.Diddy all I have to say about him is I hate him end of.
Xzibit is great all the songs I have heard of his are great I think he is underestimated and not as well known as many of the other rapper who are around today personally I thing he is one of the best today.
Dre I like him alot again I think his earlier "old school" raps were better than his later work but he hasnt made as much as I would have liked him to he more produces records like Eminem does.
Snoop ummmmm what can I say about him well I like him but it is the same with Dre and Eminem his earlier work was better. nowadays his work hasnt been as good as it was I dont like his more recent albums like Paid The Cost To Be The Boss and the work he has done with Pharell.
Nelly, I agree with TheFreakGuy. I dont like his music I dont know what all the fuss is about with him I think he is overrated and his music is more Pop than Hip-Hop.

Re: My Random Thoughts On Hip-Hop
I actually think 50 is a good rapper too, I also like Nelly. Chamillionaire is one of the few new rappers that I actually like along with Young Joc. Kanye West is good too, I like his lyrics. Eminem and Pac are best in my opinion followed my Jay-z and Naz.

Re: My Random Thoughts On Hip-Hop
I used to listen to hip-hop, but then I realised that metal is better.
Oh wait, I just realised no matter how many people post that, it's not going to make it any more 'correct' or worth posting in a thread entirely dedicated to hip hop. Nice one guys

Haha. They're all either pop-rap or commercial. Still, each to his own.
I probably been through this before but Johnny ya forgetitng two things:
-Some of Eminem's best work was on Encore, with a few clangers. He messed up on Eminem Show too (Soldier? Still better than most other people's songs, but urgh), but nobody took away from that. You forget Yellow Brick Road, Like Toy Soldiers, Mosh, etc. People often take away Encore from Eminem's career but he came correct with that album, mainly.
-No P Diddy, no Bad Boy. No Bad Boy, no BIG, plus a ton of other good pop rap. Diddy is what 50 Cent is desperately trying to be: A successful record label exec turned businessman.

That's Timbaland for ya. He never disappoints.
As for the songs, I think Maneater is her best song on there. Her vocals were just right and the beat was very catchy. That also goes for No Hay Igual, Glow, Wait For You, Do It, and some other tracks. Overall, the whole CD is great. It's her best CD to date.

Re: My Random Thoughts On Hip-Hop
Real good thread DM. I just don't get some rappers these days. Some of them are so popular just because of style. Some of my favorite rappers are Eminem, DMX, Joe Budden, Jay Z and Xzibit. Guys like Mike Jones, Paul Wall, Paul Wall I just cannot stand.
