Define Hip-Hop...
Hip-Hop is a culture and form of ground breaking music and self expression with elements that consisted of the elements of graffiti art, DJing, MCing, and breaking. Today Hip-Hop is considered to be dead in the mainstream because so-called mainstream Hip-Hop doesn't have the elements of hip-hop and have no meaning.

Re: My Random Thoughts On Hip-Hop
Not sure if we have talked about this guy but, Plan B. Anyone else liking him. He's from the UK, so I doubt you yanks have had much exposure to him. When you hear the album for the first time some of the tracks are really great because you have no idea where they are going, tracks like 'Charmaine', 'Tough Love'. I'm sure there was someone else on here who was a fan, can't remember who though.

Haha. I remember posting a thread about him before his album came out and it went down like lead balloon. His album is one of the best ones out the UK I've heard in a while. Can see where the Eminem comparisons come from, but yeah, he's different. US heads need to check him and Sway out, seriously.
Fan's probably me by the way

Re: My Random Thoughts On Hip-Hop
Yeah it was you. He has so many references to English culture as well as subtle little references to Eminem throughout the CD. Hopefully he can deliver on his second album. He's great live though, much better than I was expecting.

Re: My Random Thoughts On Hip-Hop
You seen him live? You bastard.
Didn't know about the whole guitar-playing-rapper thing at first, but he's excellent. Lookin forward to his next shizz.
And what's up with Dizzee? Didn't he have a single out or something?

Re: My Random Thoughts On Hip-Hop
Well I haven't heard anything or seen anything from Dizzee apart from when I saw him at Reading Festival, no news on his new CD or anything like that.
EDIT - I just checked his myspace, he has a new track called GHETTO on there.

Re: My Random Thoughts On Hip-Hop
...I'm not going to rip into you here but why, in the name of Jesus tapdancing Christ, would you say that in a thread dedicated to hip hop which goes on for 40 odd pages?
