Re: My Random Thoughts On Hip-Hop
Meh. Ain't had a chance to throw my two pence in in ages.
-50 and Em both killed You Don't Know. 50 can be good when he wants to.
-50's a pop star now, a smart businessman who controls New York until a MC with, ya know, actual love for hip hop comes and challenges him.
Get Rich= Overrated, but probably worth what it got, four star ratings and stuff. He WAS okay on his old mixtapes, but even thats been blown up. Good as Big L? Nah. Mind you, I was thinkin today- If Ready To Die got released today, with what it was speakin on, no way would get a classic rating. Think about that before you shit on Get Rich.
Massacre was pure bollocks though. I wouldn't defend that album even if I thought it was any good at all, which I don't.
And that Jay shizz from about 700 pages back...Blueprint, then Reasonable Doubt are the only ones really worth getting. Otherwise, get Blueprint 2.1 or Black Album.

Generic inspirational signature quote? Yeah, why not eh.
If you don't stand for something you will fall for anything
ONE LOVE CREW: REPPIN' REAL HIP-HOP
Define Hip-Hop...
Hip-Hop is a culture and form of ground breaking music and self expression with elements that consisted of the elements of graffiti art, DJing, MCing, and breaking. Today Hip-Hop is considered to be dead in the mainstream because so-called mainstream Hip-Hop doesn't have the elements of hip-hop and have no meaning.
If you're reppin' real hip-hop, copy and paste the text in this signature into your own signature and show it!
Don't stereotype hip-hop as being negative or, god forbid, 'just talking'.

I am a true fan of Lupe Fiasco, and you took me out of your dropbox. You judging me a little quickly perhaps? I don't follow trends, fuck that. I like his music cause I think it's good. I don't like his music cause other people do. I'm not being fake at all bro, I want an explanation from you as to why I was taken out of your dropbox.
I know you don't know me that well but don't assume that I am jumping on the bandwagon or some shit.

Wow. I haven't heard anyone say anything about Big L in forever. Seriously, one of the more overlooked emcees in hip-hop history. The man's a lyrical genius.

Re: My Random Thoughts On Hip-Hop
50 stopped being hot when he dropped Candy Shop and he lost the streets when he dissed Jadakiss and Fat Joe for being in the Ja NY video.

Re: My Random Thoughts On Hip-Hop
Yeah, I'm pretty sure anyone would agree with you on the 50 thing, it's kinda common knowledge. No disrespect or anything, 'cide, I'm just stating what I believe is common sense to a hip-hop fan.
And, sorry, I don't go back to far in this thread, maybe 5 pages or so.

Re: My Random Thoughts On Hip-Hop
I'm ready for Saigon's The Greatest Story Never Told album to drop even though he might do Lupe numbers.

Re: My Random Thoughts On Hip-Hop
That album looks hot. Also, I'm (obviously) heavily looking forward to NaS' new release dropping soon, "Hip Hop Is Dead."

Shit, what hip hop fan isn't looking forward to that album? Anyway, we have to wait until December before it drops though.
In the meantime I'll just listen to "Illmatic" and more of his old school shit. I can't get enough of Illmatic. Definitely one of the best hip hop records of all time IMO.
One Love, It Ain't Hard To Tell, Halftime, The World Is Yours, N.Y. State Of Mind, etc. All hot tracks.
