Basically compile your ten favourites, and if you want, explain what makes them so special to you.
Basically, I'd go:
1 - Definitely Maybe (Oasis), due to pretty much every song having had a special meaning to me at any point in my life;
2 - Construção (Chico Buarque), Bossa Nova stuff by the man I consider the greatest songwriter of all time.
3 - Por Esse Rio Acima (Fausto), again, stuff sang in portuguese, that's pretty much a concept album on a very important part of my country's history, with amazing lyrical contributions and even more spectacular instrumentals.
4 - Rain Dogs (Tom Waits), quite obviously the coolest scumbag of all time. The Heart of Saturday Night could be in this place too, but in the end I settled for what I believe is his best work, even if I may like the other one slightly more.
5 - Unknown Pleasures (Joy Division), for dancing like a retard while depressed as fuck. It's actually a perfect combination.
6 - The Queen Is Dead (The Smiths), for the best of Morrissey's depressing as fuck writing and the best of Johnny Marr's godlike guitar work.
7 - Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) (Wu-Tang Clan), IMO the best hip hop group of all time with the greatest hip hop album of all time. Every song flows perfectly in and of themselves and into one another, and in between amazing wordplay and masterful insertion of cinematic/historical references, all the way to raw and gripping tales of social injustice, this becomes clearly a landmark in music history.
8 - Eastern Sounds (Yusef Lateef), could not tell you how many times I heard this in a single day, for how many days in a row. The opening track is absolutely gorgeous, but to me the whole thing reaches its peak with Love Theme from Spartacus, an absolutely sublime take on the theme song from one of the greatest movies ever made.
9- Highway to Hell (AC/DC), because fuck you, that's why.
10 - The Stone Roses (The Stone Roses), ranging from the most atmospheric shit to the most danceable, just purely E-driven happy as fuck tunes, every single song in this invokes so many different emotions in you, it's impossible not to like it.
Honorary mention to Rattus Norvegicus by The Stranglers, the most underrated punk band of all time.
Now you go.
