Default First experiences with Music?

We didn't just turn on the radio one day and listened to a song and said, hey I like this who is this person? When he comes to me, being Puerto Rican legit everyone in my family listens to Spanish music. Whether it's Merengue which is more of a fast beat, I can grab a pretty lady and dance on the floor or Bachata which is more of a R&B, romantic type of music, it's always been in my blood. Shoot I still remember my Mother, playing Spanish music 7 in the morning as she cleaned up the house. I'm thinking wtf I want to sleep, not listen to music that made my ears bleed. It's funny because as a kid, you never think you'll listen to the same type of music as your parents, but after I got older and understood my language better, I found that same love for it like my family still have to this day.

Now when it comes to my Father he is a mix more of Spanish music, and Hip Hop/Rap. He's not the type of guy to listen to Paramore, or Linkin Park that's too hard for him apparently lol. He was more Run DMC, Rakim type of guy when it came to music. I think him blasting his music in the car, or at home was the reasons why I listen to his music at the time. Even today, I still listen to old school shit and tell these younglings man that shit you guys listen to, is bs listen to this. Now over the years from people here and my real life, I've got into music let's say it's the norm for my family. Like I said Paramore, Skillet are just a few that I gave a chance from people and I thank them for that. So I like to know some of the first times you listened to music as a kid, or maybe music you got into when others were like man that shit is dumb, but you did and loved it?

It was mainly pop music from the TV or radio until I was around 6 or 7? and then I heard my Mum put on some music. It was metal. Loved it. Iron Maiden's "Can I Play With Madness?" was my first 'favourite song' I watched Kerrang pretty religiously from then on really which kind of crafted a lot of my taste in rock and metal music.

We didn't really listen to music much in our house. My brother did when I was too young to understand what was going on and he tells me how all my favourite bands (The Stone Roses & The Smiths) come from that time of hearing them as a toddler while he baby-sat for me.

Fast-forward to the early 90's when I was in primary school and I vividly remember hearing these at a friends house as we chilled in his room

My Dad was a huge Beatles fan. Bottom line, first time I heard Lucy In The Sky with Diamonds I was hooked.
