^

Just finished King Buzzo's new album (This Machine Kills Artists), as well as Echo and the Bunnymen's first full-length in 30 years (Meteorites). Both albums came out today. KB's new album is good but as weird as you'd expect for a solo project of his. E&TB was disappointing, but considering their age and loss of Jake Brockman, it's more than understandible. It's a decent effort, just not quite at the same standard as their older work.

The Satanist deserves a mention.

New Black Keys is solid.

Syd Arthur - Sound Mirror

This band are so criminally underrated. This is their second album, the first (On An On) is a belter too. New kids on the famous Canterbury Scene.

Temples - Sun Structures

Awesome new psychedelic band. Really authentic 60s sound.

Beck - Morning Phase

Really chilled out album, definitely recommend checking it out.

Metronomy - Love Letters

Really quirky synth-pop.

Took a page out of the froot playbook and linked my songs, makes it much easier to sift through.

Listen to the new Jack White album "Lazaretto" (not officially out yet) that Hanoi pimped in another thread. I enjoyed it, just a downright fun & funky record that I happened to be in the right mood for. I always respected Jack White as an artist so the album peaked my curiosity. Also gave the Sisyphus self-titled debut a listen before that, it's a collaborative Glitch-Hop project by Son Lux, Sufjan Stevens and Serengeti. VERY well done upbeat record. Definite ear candy for synth tech nerds.

The latest Bombay Bicycle Club album is probably worth a listen also.

Currently playing the shit out of St. Vincent's self-titled effort and Todd Terje's It's Album Time. Moderately so with others like Chromeo's White Women and Food by Kelis, but the former two are definitely my favorite albums of the year thus far. Other recommendations below:

TOBACCO — Ultima II Massage (electronic)
Swans — To Be Kind (experimental rock)
Young Fathers — Dead (alternative hip hop)
YG — My Krazy Life (hip hop)
Christian Fennesz — Bécs (experimental/electronica)
Ingrid Michaelson — Lights Out (pop)
Have a Nice Life — The Unnatural World (experimental)
