Default Make a bands greatest hits (with a twist)

Make your favorite band (or any band you like) greatest hits album but the catch is it has to the the same track number from the original album.

Muse

1 New Born
2 Bliss
3 panic station
4 Sing for Absolution
5 Guiding Light
6 Follow me
7 Mirco cuts ??
8 Hysteria
9 Darkshines ??
10 Butterflies & Hurricanes
11 Knights of Cydonia
12 2nd law unsustainable
13 2nd law isolated systems

Note
It seems across most of Muse's albums the #3 track is one of the strongest.
It was the toughest choice out of all my picks I had to chose from

Time is Running out or Supermassive Black Hole or undisclosed desires or panic station.

Very tough.

Megadeth

Because "greatest hits" lists are done to death, here are some of my favourite more obscure Megadeth songs.

1. Lucretia
2. This Was My Life
3. Victory
4. A Secret Place
5. Burning Bridges
6. Tears In A Vial
7. Washington is Next!
8. Sudden Death

That Muse album is seriously lacking Citizen Erased, Follow me is awful compared to it and Map of the Problematique is much better then Sing for Absolution imo.

I'll go with Metallica

1, Enter Sandman
2, Master of Puppets
3, For Whom The Bell Tolls
4, One
5, All Nightmare Long
6, Whiplash
7, Orion
8, The Call of Ktulu
9, Suicide and Redemption
10, Wasted My Hate
11, Bleeding Me (SnM version)
12, The Struggle Within
13, Fixxxer
14, The Outlaw Torn

I think you missed the gimmick for this greatest hits list, it actually makes it an interesting list to compile

Yes greatest hits list are done to death but that is why I put the twist on it. It makes it more interesting and difficult to make. You didn't even follow the rules of my criteria. LOL

The funny thing is the two songs you mentioned were ones I was going back and forth on. If you asked me tomorrow I may have changed my mind LOL
But I was trying to spread out the albums each song was off of.

Oooo this seems fun

Led Zeppelin

1. Good Times Bad Times
2. Black Dog
3. Over the Hills and Far Away
4. Stairway to Heaven
5. Out on the Tiles
6. Kashmir
7. Ramble On
8. When the Levee Breaks
9. Bring it on Home
10. Ten Years Gone

This was pretty challenging as I'm a big fan of Zeppelin and I try to be obscure and put their "non-hits", but it wouldn't be a Zeppelin greatest hits album without "Black Dog", "Stairway to Heaven" and "Kashmir" lol

Motley Crue

Doesn't really resemble a greatest hits as my favorites tend to be deeper cuts.

1. Live Wire
2. Shout At The Devil
3. Dancing On Glass
4. Bastard
5. Home Sweet Home
6. Five Years Dead
7. Starry Eyes
8. Too Fast For Love
9. She Goes Down
10. Ten Seconds To Love
11. Danger

Your rule definitely makes this harder to compile, but also extremely limiting to make a great compilation with the right flow. Very fun thread idea though, maybe you can make a new one eventually asking for genre compilations.

Anyway, I can't think of who my favorite band is, but I thought i'd begin with Nine Inch Nails. I used to be an unabashed hardcore fan growing up and seen them Live more often than I can count. Double CD SWERVE, and the second CD is centered around heavier tracks with two moody pieces for breathing room.

1 All the Love in the World (With Teeth)
2 Into the Void (The Fragile CD 2)
3 The Frail (The Fragile CD 1)
4 The Wretched The Fragile (CD 1)
5 Closer (The Downward Spiral)
6 Ruiner (The Downward Spiral)
7 Sin (Pretty Hate Machine)
8 Only (With Teeth)
9 The Big Comedown (The Fragile CD 2)
10 God Given (Year Zero)
11 La Mer (The Fragile CD 1)
12 The Great Below (The Fragile CD 1)
13 Right Where It Belongs (With Teeth)
14 Hurt (The Downward Spiral)
15 Almost Home (The Social Network Soundtrack.. I cheated to get Zero Sum in there)
16 Zero-Sum (Year Zero)

1) Head Like a Hole (Pretty Hate Machine)
2) Wish (Broken)
3) Heresy (The Downward Spiral)
4) March of the Pigs (The Downward Spiral)
5) Something I can Never Have (Pretty hate Machine)
6) Gave up (Broken)
7) Just Like you Imagined (The Fragile CD 1)
8) Suck (Broken)
9) A Warm Place (The Downward Spiral)
10) Erasure (The Downward Spiral)
11) Meet your Master (Year Zero)
12) Reptile (The Downward Spiral)
13) The Downward Spiral (The Downward Spiral)
14) Black Noise (Hesitation marks)

2. Norwegian Wood (This Bird has Flown) (Rubber Soul)
3. I'm Only Sleeping (Revolver)
4. Nowhere Man (Rubber Soul)
5. And I Love Her (A Hard Day's Night)
6. Let It Be (Let It Be)
7. Please Please Me (Please Please Me)
8. Happiness is a Warm Gun (The White Album)
9. You Never Give Me Your Money (Abbey Road)
10. Lovely Rita (Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band)
