What's popular in your city/country?

Thought this might be a fun thread. Post songs or artists that are popular and wellknown only in your country, town or even neighborhood. So don't post music that are already known all over the world. I want to see something different.

I'd rather not. Quite embarassed by the "popular" stuff here tbh.

I live in Tennessee, so country music is quite the rage here. Of course, people here listen to all sorts like anywhere else. But we have Nashville, which is the epicenter of country music. Of course, thank god I don't live there.

Re: What's popular in your city/country?

Here in Lithuania people seem to listen to Lithuanian rap/hip hop, pop, dubstep. I'd rather not continue.

On a brighter note, local metalheads listen mostly to black metal. Lithuanian, Scandinavian and Eastern/Northern European bands. 70s-80s Punk is pretty popular in the underground too.

I accept rep.

Re: What's popular in your city/country?

It's hard to really gage what is popular in the town, there is no real style which dominates however there is a style of music which was born in my town and that is "donk"

For those of you who don't know what it is, it's not really that popular here and for the most part people think it's ridiculous but it is popular with the less educated, less well off members of society.

Re: What's popular in your city/country?

The indie music scene is very popular in Montréal, I'm pretty proud of this.
However, like everywhere, it's mostly the crappy pop bands that dominate the charts.

DAMN RIGHT
