[The camera pans through the cloudy sky, before breaking through and showing a long river – The Amazon. A boat is heading down the river, and soon a helicopter flies over. On this helicopter… is DH]
DH: This … is Peru.
[Several quick shots of the forest]
DH: Located on the coast of South America and serving as the gateway to the West, Peru is praised for its rich history, luscious scenery, and deadly wildlife.
[Shots of some deadly animals, before cutting to a shot of Machu Picchu]
DH: It was here where the Inca Empire ruled for nearly a century before being conquered by the Spaniards. And it is here where 21 WF members are about to begin the adventure of a lifetime.
[Back to the boat where eighteen people are sitting atop, looking stern and ready to go]
DH: They have already been divided into three tribes of seven. They are strangers from different walks of life, forced to work together to create a new society, while battling the elements … and each other.
[Shot of different players looking fierce]
DH: They must learn to adapt or they’ll be voted from the tribe. In the end, only one will remain to claim the title of Sole Survivor and million dollar prize that goes with it.
39 days …
21 people … ONE Survivor!
[The boat containing all of the castaways pulls up to a port, where they all board a military-esque truck that carries them deep into the forest. They pull up to a large field where DH awaits]
DH: Welcome to Survivor: Peru!
DH: Six years ago, WF Survivor began, and here we are, 11 seasons later, still going strong.
DH: As you can see, you have already been divided up into three tribes, each with seven people. This is only the third time we have started the game with more than two tribes, and trust me when I tell you it makes for one crazy game. There is Zaparo in Brown (Sienna), Kulina in Teal, and Jibito in Light Purple (Dark Orchid). These are the people who you will be living with for the next thirty-nine days, so take a close look and be prepared for anything and everything.
[Shots of people looking anxious]
DH: Seeing as most of you have never played Survivor before, there are a few things I want to emphasize. I encourage you all to read over the rules again and make sure you’re prepared for this journey that’s ahead of you. Remember that you can’t communicate with people from the other tribes outside of the thread, and that you must post in your tribe colour during challenges and camp life.
[Shots of certain people nodding and looking eager to start the game]
DH: As well, Exile Island is back in play this season.
[A few quiet gasps and looks of nervousness, while some actually look excited]
DH: When you are sent to Exile Island, you are banished from the game. Not only is it a struggle to survive on your own on a remote island, but you will be completely isolated from the game, meaning your tribemates could be back at camp plotting to vote you out, and you would have no idea of it.
[More looks of worry]
DH: There is a silver lining, however. Hidden somewhere on Exile Island is an Immunity Idol, which can be played at Tribal Council anytime up until Day 36. If you play the Idol, any votes cast against you that night will not count, and through ten seasons, I can tell you that finding this Idol can be your saving grace and key to becoming a millionaire, but can also be your downfall depending on who you choose to trust with this valuable information. Exile Island has its pros and cons, and it’s up to you to take advantage of it.
Well, are you all ready to get to it?
[Everyone cheers again]
DH: The first thing you will need to do as a tribe is get to your tribe camp. You are going to have to trek through the Peruvian jungle in hopes of getting there before the sun sets. At camp, you will find two machetes, a pot, and two bags of rice … that’s it.
[Everyone looks stunned]
DH: No fire, no water… it’s going to be a tough few days. But hey, this is Survivor, and it’s not going to get any easier from here on out! Good luck!
Your first task is to get to your camp before sunset. This means that each person on your tribe must post the following once:
[Name] arrives at their tribe’s camp.
This is just my way of ensuring that everyone has seen that the game has started and checked in.
While this is going on, I need everyone to send me a list of all 20 players in the game (excluding yourself), ranking them from 1-20. The person you rank #1 is who you are most feared will win the game, and the person you rank #20 is who you are least feared will win the game. It is imperative that you do your rankings honestly and submit them to me before the next Immunity Challenge.
