Do you calculate the pot odds and all that? I tried getting into that, all the way to where you make the percentage like how the pros do, but my brain is not for numbers unfortunately. I'm more of a feel player, which really annoys the guys I used to play who calculated the odds.

And I always play 7-2. The amount of hands I've won with 7-2 in the hole is amazing.


EDIT: Also, we should also be casting occasional glances at those who's post count is still in single figures. Probably one or two scum in there at least.

Just playing 7-2 off suit is garbage play, regardless of whether you win the occasional pot. I used to have a lucky hand - any Jack/6 -just cause it seemed to come in more often than not. I realised you could apply that to Q7 or K5, whatever. I realised I was playing garbage.

Now I win way more overall. Even if I lose hands and pots or even get bad beats occasionally, if I play well I'm happy. That's where the luck comes in.

It's not just garbage play, it's the worst possible starting hand you can get. And I always play it. Not for a huge pot if someone goes in big, but I like to see the flop with it. Rarely play trash hands. I can get on tilt quite easy though if I get a bad beat.

I am a bit of both. But I like to wait for big hands. Saying that when we play cash we do the 72 game which allows you to get a £1 from each player if you win with 72. Made £40 one hand with when I flopped a full house . Though it has to be the right situation to play it.

I agree with cloverleaf though I prefer to avoid bad hands

Liverpool aligned. But the OP says there is only one player per club. There were just a few anomolies that needed thrashing out.

Well that one per team is obviously for the town players, scum could be just 1 team. Again look at the world cup mini, town was 1 player per team but scum was all Spanish players.
