for claiming when almost lynched
+ helps town not waste time.
+ lets town know your role and offer advice
+ lets town know what your role is and if that means there isn't one for the mafia (ie, a town tracker and a scum tracker isn't always likely)
+ if a good role, you might be protected anyways and have nothing to fear
+ lets scum know you're role
+ if town doesn't buy the claim and lynches you, then you flip scum, it lets town know that there is a 99% chance that scum was given fake claims
for not claiming:
+ you keep your role safe
+ if town, you wasted a lynch for town
+ if scum, you helped town
+ scum might kill you anyways in thinking you have a powerful role in not claiming
And Rush I get away with it all the time. It's a smart selfish move because I make everyone take the risk of lynching me without a claim. What usually happens is I don't get lynched. Well at first I got lynched but now I usually just get everyone angry with me but I don't get lynched. I stand by it.
Ziggler's refusing to claim just sounds like a panic defense to not get lynched, he's claiming to be pulling the "stupid town" approach but come on, if he knows it's stupid he's just bringing it up to seem town.
Absolutely feels like a bluff/threat. "Don't lynch me, you'll regret it".
He needs to claim.
