I'm not sure if Smithers can kill without Burns. What would his role be? Maybe he was someone who could negate abilities so that Burns could kill them regardless?

There was a backup vig (died already) so a backup sk isn't out of the question. And considering 3 people died last night AND the vig was blocked chances are there is a backup sk.
