i liked yu gi oh way better than pokemon. pokemon had too many lame filler eps. yugioh was more like dbz in that it just extended a battle over 2-3 eps.

Yu Gi Oh couldn't keep me entertained for 20 minutes straight. Pokemon had a fantastic concept but the anime just kept blowing shit. I wouldn't call either of them 'good'. Dragonball Z on the other hand is absolutely fantastic. It's not a preference either. It has long clear plots, character development and on the whole, a great way of telling their stories. There are thousands of things I wish was different but the way things are is pretty awesome in itself.

Also, being Sticksy's Godfather, Imma tear leeroy-riz a new asshole.

That's what I meant by it being dependent on what part of Pokemon we're talking. The first 3 or so seasons are absolute gold, once Tracy and that got involved, it got progressively worse and it lost my interest because of that.
