Re: Official TNA DVD/Match/Show Discussion Thread

Steel Asylum has no business being there. A a stupid spectacle match that had no rhyme reason it's tolerable to see dudes hit that super stiff cage. That's it.

Nor does Sabin vs Shelley, as both certainly had better outings than that. (Sabin vs London, Sabin vs Lynn 2/3 falls, Shelley vs Shocker)

The contract 4 way is great. Where that PPV still felt flat in too many areas, that actually gave the night a "classic" X Division match in the vein of the Asylum/early Impact years.

Best Ultimate X ever. Or at least tied w/Ultimate X II. So, fitting.

Unbreakable three way sucks. Predictable, lame choice. Where in the HELL is Styles vs Joe from Turning Point? Or Styles vs Daniels Iron Man I? Those are the two best X Division matches in company history.

Felt like they just wanted to randomly diversify the list instead of going for what makes for a stronger, truer example. Can't be wrong when the same people were constantly killing it once upon a time. (Joe vs Daniels vs Styles option had seemingly endless top quality matches. Not counting my displeasure w/the first. Go figure.)

You suck the blood of the afflicted.
Those lacking imagination take refuge in reality.

Re: Official TNA DVD/Match/Show Discussion Thread

A top two EC3 match in TNA for me would be the Full Metal Mayhem Match with Matt Hardy from TNA's No Surrender 2015 special in August last year. One of Matt's best matches in TNA as well with some good psychology mixed in with good action. Not related to EC3, but I would say one of Spud's top two TNA matches also took place on this show in Spud vs. Austin Aries.

EC3 and Aries had a good match during the title tournament shortly after that.

EC3 and Galloway had a pretty good match on Impact in the last few months.

I like EC3 as a personality, but in the ring, I feel it really depends on the opponent to help him to raise his game or in some cases stipulation matches seem to work well with him such as the Mayhem match and Hair vs. Hair with Spud.

Was watching Final Resolution 2005, did they redo the commentary for the Scott Hall V Jeff Hardy match? It's just that Abyss comes out and Don West says "Here comes Abyss" really casual and then acts as if he is shocked to see him there a second later.

Re: Official TNA DVD/Match/Show Discussion Thread

Texas Death would be a top pick of mine for a match to involve "TNA homegrown talents" considering arguments could be made for names like AJ/Daniels/Joe/etc getting exposure in ROH as well. Another one for me would be Roode & Eric Young vs. AMW from the above mentioned Final Resolution 2005.

I know TNA did edit some DVDs from that period involving Matt Bentley and/or Billy Gunn when they had their name issues (Michael Shane/New Age Outlaw vs. The Outlaw respectively being the causes.) Couldn't say for sure in regards to that Abyss run-in though.

Moose/Galloway-***1/2

Still early but definitely the best TNA match so far.

I would love to see these 2 without the grand title rules would be super physical.

Really? I thought Richards/Lashley was better and maybe even Hardys/Wolves too.

Re: Official TNA DVD/Match/Show Discussion Thread

I'll have ever to check out Davey and Bobby I totally forgot it was even out there.

The tag match was alright but felt a little dull especially cause I've seen them do so much better in the past.

I really liked the physicality between Drew and Moose and you just don't see that many great pure heavyweight matches anymore. I really enjoyed it.
