Re: Aces & Eights Discussion Thread

It was unexpected. For that alone they earn points. Especially when it leaves you something to talk about after such a throwaway show. Taz is random. It's...weird or odd or whatever you want to label it. But, it's something the angle needed. LIFE. Certainly left fans wondering what is in store for next week and onward towards Lockdown.

Re: Aces & Eights Discussion Thread

It also explains Taz's little dickish digs at Todd in recent weeks. Either he was foreshadowing a heel turn OR he knew he was being replaced on commentary and was legit pissed off by it.

Either way, hopefully this means no more Taz on commentary.

Oh sorry. Its only been going on seven months. Not eight. That makes the world of difference. The fact this angle has had Wes Brisco and Garrett Bischoff under a mask for 7 or 8 months is retarded.

2. This angle is ALL ABOUT SURPRISES! What the fuck do you think they have the masks are for? This is their way of stretching the story and keeping interests alive.
First off, no angle should be about surprises. Angles are supposed to have a story arch and invest you emotionally and occasionally throw a surprise in. Surprises for the sake of it are the reason TNA have had to cut to 4 PPVs a year because there is no interest in their storylines for people to pay money to see them.

3. And since you know everything about what they should and shouldn't do, and you pretty said that nothing in TNA makes sense to you, what swerves do you want to rush oh wise and whiny one?
I DONT WANT A SWERVE!! Are you that beaten down with shit angles that you think everything should be a swerve? The fact is TNA always does this. Always. You can cry about "its supposed to be a surprise", but the fact is Taz cannot wrestle. There for there will never be a payoff to this angle. Wrestling has always been about the end game. And the end game is a match between two hated rivals. Swerves have never drawn money for TNA. What drew money for TNA was builds towards a match. Whether it was Steiner vs Joe or Jarrett vs Sting or Angle vs Joe (several times) the common theme was that you built towards the match and built up a rivalry between them. What end game is there in Taz joining the Aces and 8s?

And that other guy was right. You're expected way too much than TNA can handle
Oh sorry. Again, here's me actually investing in the storylines and hoping for something entertaining. Why do you watch wrestling if your standards are at ground level may I ask?

There is zero money in that. Nobody would have seen this episode of Impact in South Africa. They are shown at 6 o'clock at night. Nobody is saying to put pre-watershed programming on their network. Thats just common knowledge.

Re: Aces & Eights Discussion Thread

Well A&8s continue to de-evolve with more meaningless joins. Tazz has brought nothing to TNA in the years he's been there. I stopped paying attention to him after the Samoa Joe fiasco.

They literally built an entire show around Tazz heel he was a major player on the roster or something. It was obvious A&8s were going to bust up the wedding but to do it in the way they did was lame.

Re: Aces & Eights Discussion Thread

It made a lot of sense actually. The stable consists of guys who didn't get their chance in the big leagues and the guys who were treated like shit by TNA. Taz matches that, they're trying to replace him with the Todd guy. That's why he acted bitter towards Todd from his first day in the commentators booth. And the way he turned heel was pretty awesome imo. I thought he was going to do striptease, lol. Replay the video and stop it when ho throws his jacket off and look at some of the fans. Priceless.

English is not my first language. Please take that into account before you start to attack my grammar. Thanks.

Re: Aces & Eights Discussion Thread

Taz is going to be the ideal person to be the spokesman for the group, as they don't really have anyone who can cut a promo. I think for the Aces and Eights to get over they need to win matches and think there should be a show of just matches between the Aces and Eights and TNA Wrestlers. Where the Aces and Eights win all the matches.

The reason why we don't get fresh ideas and promotions rising in American Pro Wrestling is because the majority of the community is happy with the same old shit and will reject any chance of change. There is a risk in doing new things, 9 times out of 10, it leads to 50+ pages of bitching and moaning. While business gets turned into a dictatorship and more and more out of touch. Support the indies, support New Pro Wrestling.

I wonder just how deep the Aces and Eights run and now having Taz might help get some explanations about their motives out.
