Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread
The only TNA PPVs I would say are completely bad are:
Destination X 2005 - Just horibly booked. A ton of gimmick matches, most of which didn't make sense, and some really screwy finishes, including the infamous ending to Monty Brown vs. Trytan.
Slammiversary 2005 - Just a very bland show. They had just lost the deal with FSN, so this show just felt like it had no life to it. The only good things on this one were the KOTM match, and I would say that was by far the weakest KOTM, and Joe's debut.
Victory Road 2006 - Match wise its not terrible, but its basically Slammiversary 2006 Part II, with all the matches from that show turned into tag matches. If you watch Slammy 06, you saw a much better version of this show.
Against All Odds 2007 - Very bland. Bad gimmick matches (escept for Sting/Abyss), a disappointing Lynn/Sabin match, and a so so Angle/Christian match (IMO anyway)
Other those, I'd say every other TNA PPV was at least ok.
Alot of people also hate Hard Justice 2007, but I didn't think it was that bad. I think alot of people were just pissed that Joe lost.
Now for the great shows:
Turning Point 2004
Final Resolution 2005
No Surrender 2005
Bound for Glory 2005
Turning Point 2005
Against All Odds 2006
Bound for Glory 2006
Slammiversary 2007 (I seem to be the only one that really enjoyed this one, but oh well)
Victory Road 2007
Bound for Glory 2007 (my pick for best TNA PPV ever)
Victory Road 2008
Hard Justice 2008
^^ That's the cream of the crop right there. Any of those shows are definately worth checking out.
