I just want both of them to go away forever. Live out the rest of their days with the knowledge that any worthwhile contributions they've made to wrestling (if any) are decades in the past and now they're both just sad old men making asses of themselves.
Russo, I 100% agree. Cornette and his vast knowledge of wrestling past can be quite entertaining to listen to. When he starts shooting on Joey Ryan and Kenny Omega for stupid stuff, there is no need for that. But old Midnight Express stories and Mid-South wrestling are great listens.
I won't deny that Cornette knows a lot about the history of wrestling. He was also a fantastic heel manager. But he's also a legitimate nutcase that has a history of emotional outbursts, threats, and actual physical violence. And his real goal in life is to drag wrestling back to 1983 and hold it there forever.
I won't say he's as bad as Russo for the business, but he's probably just as terrible a person.
I don't disagree with any of that. I certainly don't have a need for Cornette with a current wrestling company. But him doing his podcast and telling old stories and answering fan questions is fine for me.
Feels like an unneeded topic for someone who casually only seems to post Figure 4 Weekly/Meltzer related threads. Not that it is sus or anything.
Maybe if either Cornette or Russo worked for TNA again, you know, that ol chestnut.
