Re: Night of Champions comp VOTE! Deadline Thursday 19th
Great work by everyone involved!
I know I never participate in gfx here, but I saw this in passing from the forum main screen - is it ok if I vote? I’m thinking (maybe) about joining in a future contest, if that gives me any leeway as to having a right to add my opinion now. Anyway, my top three, in order:
Tulf – clear, bright and neatly done with a suitable colour theme. It looks appropriate for the purpose and has nothing more included than necessary.
NeyNey – I love this, even though it doesn’t include all the standard poster text and layout. I wish WWE would experiment a bit and consider ‘art’ posters once in a while, even though I know they aren’t the standard for advertising wrestling events.
Ace Duck - This was a tough choice over A$AP; I’d like to call it a joint 3rd. What pushed me to pick Ace Duck’s instead is the use of colour and light to create a central focal point. While I like A$AP’s entry from a purely personal taste standpoint (though the white lines are distracting because they don’t look to be the same width), this one is more eye-catching and fits the look of a ppv poster. Font’s a little fussy would be my main critical feedback but overall very appealing.
FWIW – which isn’t much, just that I’m familiar with looking critically at design, not better at it nor a better judge of it – I’m a trained graphic/multimedia designer with real world work experience.
