Re: **GRAPHICS FAQ/HELP/RESOURCE THREAD**
I hate to be a pain in the proverbial, but I'm an absolute n00b on any graphic work whatsoever, and have no clue how to make anything. But I'd like to learn how to make a logo, which I'll need for my technology assignment. What I'm looking for is a button like logo, or a small logo to place on a powerpoint presentation.
I want to incorporate the text 'Music Unleashed' on this logo and have some vibrant colours (unsure) on it too.
If I use photoshop (which I might do) - I'd just like a tutorial on how to design this logo, because I have no clue.
Sorry if it sounds complicated.
Points/rep will be given out.

I like the outcome on that. Hope it's ok.

If you don't wanna do a button, and would like to just do some crazy/awesome text, listen here
I'd suggest you go to DaFont.com and find a font that you like and will suit your project. Download it; install it. Open up PS and type The text that you'd like. Right click the layer of text and go to blending options. Go to Gradient overlay.
There, you can play around with the colors of the text and make the text multiple colors. You should add a stroke to it, but I'd recommend not putting a stroke larger than 2 or 3 pixels in size. You can also add a gradient to that. You can add an outer glow if you want, but I usually just go for a soft drop shadow with a distance of 0 and a size of 5 - 8 pixels.
Pretty much go wild, just don't use bevel and emboss. It looks horrible if used incorrectly. I pretty much just pointed out the obvious, tbh. I'd recommend going to one of the tutorial sites listed on the 1st page and getting a text tutorial off of there. If you google PhotoShop Gradient downloads, there is packs of gradients with hundreds per pack.

Re: **GRAPHICS FAQ/HELP/RESOURCE THREAD**
Would someone like to give me an example to look at?

What program do people use?
Just wondering... what programs do all these great artists use to make such great banners, and how do they operate them? I've tried out Photoshop CS3, but it doesn't seem to be able to make good enough banners. All you great artists, how do you do it?

Re: What program do people use?
All the good gfxers on this forum and other forums use CS2/3. It's the best graphic making program.

That's interesting. Thing is, I have just got CS3, and I can't seem to get these wrestlers on to my banners. I understand that the top Gfxers have experience, but I just can't figure it out. How do people make banners with certain people on it, and manage to get a faded image in the background, for instance?
Thanks for the quick reply, by the way.

Re: What program do people use?
Use the help resource thread at the top of the page. Although your question is far too broad to get a really good answer. Shortest possible answer would be to read tutorials, again in the resource thread.
This can probably be merged into that thread...maybe?

I suppose... I was just hoping for a good opinion from various people on what program they use to make such good banners.
