Fresh Dougie, may I ask you how rare is it to find somebody who is 280 pounds and can do a backflip?

Huh?

Nah, I don't think it's rare at all. It's just not a selling point. A guy knowing how to do a backflip ain't gonna put asses in seats, it's everything else that a wrestler should have knowledge of that sells tickets.

Vader was 450 pounds doing moonsaults for a living. Bam Bam was about 360. Mike Awesome was doing dives to the arena floor at just under 300 pounds. Look at what Joe has been doing for years. Guys of that size with agility is not rare but it ain't something we're going to see often because, unless the character or style calls for it, there's no point in being known as the big guy that can do a backflip. It's impressive but shouldn't be on the checklist when looking for new talent.

Lol, and these guys are making a big deal about Lesnar doing a SSP, when he botched it most of the time.

Lol this thread is hilarious..Is funny how people here underrating Goldberg. He's the perfect model of an powerhouse.

He was an insane machine, a hybrid between a technical, fast and athletic monster. He was intense, versatile, agil and unstopable, maybe his matches were a little shorts because he was projected as a unbeatable monster, but he still the GOAT powerhouse before Lesnar.

Most of the time? I've only seen him do it once.

Agility consists of more than attempting an SSP. To be a legit 280 plus, Brock was moving at speeds that Luger & Hogan could only dream of. The fact that Brock was nimble enough to balance himself on the top rope and leap that damn far, execution or not, you got realize that's agile as fuck. Besides, it's guys half his size that botch the move damn near everytime. Seriously, think about it. A guy that damn big jumps off the top rope and backflips in mid air. Whether he botched the landing or not, it's impressive that he accomplished that much.

Let's see Lesnar try doing a standing backflip on the ground. If he can't do that, then that means it's something else he can't do.

What I do not know is how fast and agile Goldberg was, even though everybody claimed that he was very agile.

It's a lot of shit Lesnar probably can't do. I mean, he's not a superhuman.

I don't see how him not being able to or never doing a backflip implies he's not agile. Hell, Undertaker hasn't done a standing backflip. So does that mean he's not agile?

no offense, but why are you so infatuated with goldberg being able to do a backflip? it's not the end-all of athleticism, nor does it really add to his wrestling ability.... it's.... just.... a backflip. you've mentioned it like 3 times now.

also, show me 3 clips of lesnar botching a shooting star press and i'll agree that he "botched it most of the time".

Yeah, you're right. My bad. It was only the time when he faced Kurt Angle at Wrestlemania did he ever botch a SSP.

But the first one he did was back when he was in his collegiate wrestling attire in the attitude era.
